Actually, if the NBA early entry rule isn't changed by then (it probably will be), he's coming to EL. Bank on it. There's already a good relationship there and basketball recruiting is very straightforward and predictable so I consider this recruitment locked up.

What 14 year old wouldn't do a chin up if they could? There are only 2 kids on my son's JV team that can touch the rim. (ANNNND Yes, they will loose every game.)

Bates has committed to play his high school ball for Ypsilanti Lincoln, while Rodgers has opted to play for Grand Blanc High School.

Rodgers, who played his eighth-grade basketball for White Pine Middle School in Saginaw Township

It is part of being a 14-year-old basketball star.

Good lord college athletics has become unbearable. I used to hate the fact that I knew the names of random 18 year-olds across the country. Now I'm reading articles about the basketball skills of kids who were 9 during our Rose Bowl run.

Will there be room for this kid with OTPT taking up a scholarship every year? OTPT is not on the team, but they keep a scholarship open for him in the event he decides to play.

I think it's about numbers. If he reclassifies, we don't have room for him (unless they add some Covid scholarships). Someone (always presumed to be Henry) already has to leave early to fit in the 3 guys that signed.

The same would apply if Bates reclassifies.

I feel bad for him. He has the heart and ball handling skills he just lacks size. you watch defenders on him at his height there’s no way he can get a shot off.
