Old school big men are a dying breed and quickly on their way to near extinction but that's not to say that they are not effective or not fun to watch because Jaxon Kohler is both. The Michigan State signee has elite level footwork with his back to the basket and has a wide array of scoring moves that left defenders guessing and guessing, time and time again.

He isn't the greatest athlete nor the biggest player but what he lacks in athleticism and size, he makes up for with feel and polish. There truly isn't a more skilled post in the entire class and he plays hard and physical too, not afraid of contact in the slightest.

Kohler has also expanded his range out to three and is an increasingly improving area of his game. The art of the old school big man goes under-appreciated and undervalued so here's to you, Jaxon Kohler.

From what I've read he's WAY under the radar. But the "highlight" clips are impressive and he's really young. Hopefully Izzo found a diamond in the rough.
