Since we’re getting into in on the delay of game thing, it’s another example where football is so so stupid.

Basketball- the backboard lights up when the clock hits 0. It is very obvious if the shot was before or after.

Soccer- the ref wears a watch that tells him if the ball goes over the goal line. If it’s over by 1 mm, the ref instantly knows. It is infallible.

Football- the back judge keeps his eye on the clock, then if it hits 0 he checks out what’s going on with the play. Then if the play hasn’t started he reaches for a flag, but if the play started before he gets to it well so be it I guess we won’t call it now.

It seems so so easy to fix. Like, so easy. Why do we have to act like it’s 1952 regarding something that is so easy to automate? You don’t even need replay, just have the ref who is watching the ball be snapped have a watch on that gives him a buzz if it hits 0.

Yeah they screwed the 4th down. Took a timeout to save Baltimore and then only rushed 3 and played man. I'm a Campbell fan already but they screwed that

Not so fast Turtleneck. In Detroit, first you give the coach a vote of confidence. Then you extend their contracts in year 3 after almost making the playoffs. Then you fire them the following november and pay them for a few years after they are gone. Also, said fired coach never gets another NFL head coaching job.
