The feeling I get watching Cassius play is similar to watching Barry Sanders. You just know you are watching something special. The kid is amazing.

The thing I laughed at the most yesterday (and I laughed quite a few times at his wizardry) was the step back three from the right wing. The two u of m defenders were like wtf we didn't see that coming, but Winston just calmly backed up three steps and stroked it.

Iowa about to join OSU and PSU as road favorites to lose tonight. Are we the only BiG team to win on the road this season? It seems especially nasty this year.

How Cassius Winston Greets His Late Brother Before Every Game
Time and his teammates have helped him heal. The process requires daily attention. Winston has learned to direct his sadness toward something positive. Some days are easier than others, but the process has allowed him to look at his life, basketball and his relationship with his late brother in a completely new way. And in the moments when he needs reminding that he isn’t alone, Winston, who graduated from Michigan State in three years with a bachelor’s degree in advertising management and is pursuing a master’s degree in sport coaching and leadership, remembers the elements of his new game day routine. In addition to the handshake, he also calls his parents, Wendi and Reg, and his other brother, Khy, before each game to make sure they are in a good space emotionally.

Thanks. Maybe there’s more insider info in the link you provided than the same one Floyd posted yesterday.

Huge road test for the young guys. Brutal enemy territory. Henry will be vilified. Cash has never won there. Tillman admits to tendinitis in his knees. Mid January test. Let’s see if Rocket and Brown can take the hostile lights we know they’re good with the bright lights.

So, Izzo says Bingham has lost 10 pounds during the season and his strength and stamina are becoming an issue.
We need to really asses the S&C at MSU. I personally know that they had the fucking dance team bulking up in the weight room. Yep, dancers. they had to meet bench press numbers weekly and had to increase to get "points" to go to events and shit. Dancers, bulking up. One time, during their use of the duffy for wind sprints Dantonio stepped in and stopped the guy making them run back and forth from the 10 back then 20 back and shit like that.
I'm not saying we should get rid of the staff or whatever, but maybe we shoudl have some kind of meeting of the minds and have set fitness and flexibility and strength standards for every team, every sport, every position every week. Maybe we do and I'm talking out my ass. Who knows.

unless your name is derrick nix, it's tough to put on/keep weight on when your running all over a basketball court with high level D1 guys like 6 days a week

i'm saying these kids probably burn more calories in a week than most people do in a year. and bingham obviously has a freakish build/metabolism. it just might not be possible for him to pack on 50 lbs or whatever

Oh, I'm not disagreeing. My point was, maybe we should invest some money into all of that for our athletes. Nutrition, S&C for each team. Research on best practices. We probably do and I'm full of shit, but with the injuries we have in football and with my daughter and her teammates bulking up as dancers and now reading this, I just was thinking out loud, maybe MSU isn't on the elite level of S&C and Nurtition. Maybe we are, and I'm not saying we aren't state of the art, but it was just my thought.

given MSU's track record in virtually every area of athletics in the last few decades outside of Tom Izzo and a few years of Mark Dantonion I would agree that, yes, we are probably not on a elite level of S&C

Maybe he had the gastro bug that was going around and/or isn't eating what they recommend.
He's battling out there. Going against bigger, stronger guys takes a lot out of you.
Cheerleaders should bring him pizza during the games.

If I were in charge of nutrition, I could get some weight on him. Not muscle, necessarily, but weight. Guinness and deep fried twinkies for every meal.

Yeah, I'm sure we probably do. I have experienced some stuff as a parent that I kind of scratched my head about, but I have no doubt they have good people in positions that know what they're doing.

Looks like we win every tiebreaker scenario for the #1 tournie seed except if it a 3-way tie between MSU-Maryland-Wisky. In this case Wisky gets #1 and we get the #2. Root for MSU to win (obv), plus Ill to win out or Wisky to lose

Illini winning out would of been good for our BTT tiebreaker scenarios, but whatever, my GAF level on the BTT is pretty low.

I always enjoy a good run in the BTT, tourney style is great basketball to watch over the course of a few days - but yeah, I'm more interested in sharing with less teams than seeding in the BTT. I have a feeling the BTT will be random as fuck anyway
