If MNF was on 3+ cable networks and the 4 major broadcast networks, all at the same time, he might have a relevant comparison.

Not to mention most people are tuning in to hear the experts. That was ok last week, as Trump would only talk about a few things before passing it on to them. Lately, he's been trying to dominate the pressers more by making it a fight with the media, which drags it all out before anyone with a basic sense of decorum takes the podium.

My wife and I have gotten to the point of DVRing it, and watching later, so we can skip ahead to the heroes Fauci and Birx.

Are you just assuming that most people are the same as you or is that first comment based on something?

It is based on an unscientific measurement of what I see/read/hear from friends and online, and on my assumption that those that don't worship Trump, probably have more respect for what Dr Fauci has to say about the virus.

Well, Fauci and Birx both said that the models are predicting 100-200k deaths is possible WITH mitigation (1-2 million deaths without mitigation). Birx expanded to say that the models show about 80k-160k, even with mitigation, if we do exactly what we're doing, but even better in the metro areas. The 200k is based more on if we dont do better than we are doing now.

I hope that the models are only based on the now, without treatment, with limited testing, with limited lockdowns/social distancing...because all of those can be improved dramatically.

Serious talk for a minute. Trump is going down a path that will lead to possible assassination attempts. The way he is handling this crisis is SEVERLY pissing people off.

You get some loonies too pissed off they will try to take you out.

I hadn't been through the virus thread on the main board yet today, and just saw that. So maybe Bob was referring to pantry there. Apologies if that's the case, Bob.

I'm sure you can understand why I might be irritated if I think someone suggested I'm a Trump supporter.

Also, for the first time in my life I’ve taken to muting and unfollowing fans of the orange one. I’ve logged back onto Facebook just to keep up with friends and family through this crisis. I’m just done with it. Never had a problem with the conservative point of view but this is just different. The attacks on the press, Fauci, the signing of the stock market chart, the bragging about the ratings etc just disgusts me. Feel a lot better emotionally just hanging out in my own echo chamber for the time being. Can still get plenty of updates on the conservative POV in the NYT.

Trump Suggests Lack of Testing Is No Longer a Problem. Governors Disagree.

Hasn't heard about testing in weeks.

Even better...

A White House spokesman, Hogan Gidley, described the call this way: “The governors praised President Trump’s leadership, assistance and quick action to address this national crisis, and the president told the governors he would make sure that whatever they may need, he would direct his team to provide.”

Looks like there's efforts to down play the numbers. Remember all that bs with he won the popular vote, his crowd size was bigger than Obama's etc? Those were just testing the waters. Get used to it there's going to be a partisan (mostly MAGA side waging it) battle over the numbers of deaths. I never thought I'd see the day but would moving to Canada or Germany or wherever be an upgrade?
