Another conference call reiterating your family comes first, then do what you can work wise. Super cool guys. I think that helps keep the morale and makes people want to do well with knowing the company has your back.

Continuing to produce cars seems kinda dumb. Who's going to buy them? If the dealerships are even open, who's going to them?

Do what you want with this, but one of the reasons we fell so far behind is because a major cable network that reaches over one million people per day refused to accept the danger of this virus. They told its viewers there was nothing to see here. This type of malpractice put the whole country at risk.

New York new cases went up over 1000 since yesterday. They are saying possibly 10,000. Our friend that works in the local hospital says they are predicting that where we are at the wave will crash into them by June. This is going to be really bad folks.

All of those are op-ed shows, but still....I've said it before they actually have industry leading journalists or they did at one point (I haven't watched in a long time). A lot of them resigned with a conscience over the last couple of years. My take is though why wade through the muck to get to the good news on the channel?

The freak out and panic of these waves is going to be... Yikes
What can be done about that? Do we need two different releases one from Obama and one from Trump that's like chill, don't panic, if you think you have it call x number to talk through and save going in for y demographic unless you have z symptoms showing already, etc

Nigel is right in that local restaurants are trying to hang in with 'take out' but that is going to be brutal. I've been in touch with some of my restaurant/bar pals (owners) and it's going to be tough for a while.

Great post Bob. On the bar front, I think Joe and Jennifer plus Margie and Mark will be fine if this shutdown only lasts a couple of weeks. If it goes for months all bets are off. I feel the worst for the Jill's and little Skuz's of the world.

yep - that's why early on when certain folks were whining about making it 'political' - guess what, it is political. It's political because someone who is morally and ethically depraved and can't run a lemonade stand without filing bankruptcy was elected by a bunch of racist, bigots because he made them feel better about their own pathetic station in life.duffy munn wrote:The Pantry wrote:You guys are kidding yourselves if you think things would be so much better now had someone else been in office.

So not to cause panic, but my daughter and I are sick. It started yesterday. It’s more of a cold right now but the difference is the cough (shortness of breath, which always go hand in hand with me being an asthmatic). I usually don’t get a cough until the end of this stuff. A cold is most likely, but we’re keeping an eye if we need to call the doc.

Of course you would say that. The current president could poison your breakfast burrito right in front of you and you would thank him. A real leader would have taken decisive action much earlier, except Trump was like...

I lived in New York during 9/11. I was grateful for Guilliani and I can tell you right now no one liked Bush in that town but every single New Yorker I know was united and fired up after this speech.

I think the more general point is that Fox News is a threat to U.S. national security. They played a role in this, especially knowing they have the president's ear.

Jeb Bush, John Kasich, Mitt Romney, heck, even Ted Cruz.. would've handle this entire situation different starting, likely, back in December.. definitely by January.
And, no, they wouldn't have stopped the virus from entering the US, but they would've mobilized our healthcare system, screening of people coming into the country, consulted with infectious disease experts who believe and trust science and implemented a national response by Super Bowl Sunday in the first weekend of February.
by saying "don't politicize this", what they're actually saying is "don't hold me and my hero accountable for our wilful ignorance that has cost American lives and forever changed our social, cultural and economic well-being".
