I think we need to understand the difference between Dantonios recruiting and Tucker’s. Dantonio was a guy who had no issue with getting the overlooked who had a chip on the shoulder and he brought that anger and focus out of them.

Tucker might recruit Michigan and Ohio if you’re talented. Higher ceiling on the cruits Tucker can bring in but maybe not the “fuck u chip” that Dantonio cultivated.

I personally never thought the “fuck you chip” could win it all.  I think you just need talent. Speed strength power.  I hope Tucker is t pulling these guys in to just recruit Michigan.  We don’t have enough talent to win it all here. I hope he’s doing it to recruit real four and five star talent, not locally, but nationally, that can run with thoroughbreds

I think it's highly unlikely we'll ever "run with the thoroughbreds" (see Saban, Nick). That would take a once-in-a-lifetime coaching stars alignment. That said, if it can happen at Clemson.....

I'm also happy to see Coach T not taking "flyers" on "diamonds in the rough". Solid 3-star talent is about all we can expect in year 2 geven the year 1 circumstances and result. 0 to 60 recruiting improvement only happens at a few select places & MSU ain't one of 'em.

Clemson is a good example. For years and years, they played “just the tip” with the highest level of college football. And every year, it found a way to choke away the opportunity. Dabo, as nutty as he is, changed that. It’s unrealistic to think MSU will find a home in the group with the very best, but striking lightning every couple of years where we knock down one of football’s best isn’t too much to ask. Couple that with other years where we’ve found eight or nine or even ten wins and Tucker will have put together a helluva resume in EL. I do believe it can happen, but I don’t think the odds are in our favor. Tucker is young and I could see him leaving for a bigger program if he finds early success here.

Don't get me wrong. I totally believe we can be a 9+ win/year program. Coach D proved that. That's the floor IMHO. But that's still 2 rungs below the 'Bama's, UGA'a & tO$U's of the world. Who knows...maybe Coach T is that generational coach like Dabo. We'll see. I think he's doing everything right off the field. On the field is still a question mark.

Yeah, it wouldn’t surprise me to learn the rule was designed to prevent Harbaugh and others like him from hiring a highly desired recruit’s family member and giving them a title like ‘team mom’ just so they have an extra special in with that recruit. That move was so blatantly underhanded.
As for CT, I haven’t any idea if there were any players we wanted in the next two years.

Considered that, despite it still seeming shaky. There will be cases where a valid hire (excluding Harbaugh maneuvers) will end up penalizing a player who might legitimately want to play for the school that hired the coach, and that would suck. I could see the player suing and having a winnable case.
Don’t tell me under any circumstances that I can’t attend MSU. Them’s fightin’ words.

If you have that question, just think how many lawyers have the same exact question. Then, think of how the NCAA constantly does things to shoot themselves in the foot. The supreme court just bitch slapped them to the tune of 9-0 in front of the whole country. They pulled their pants down and made fun of them. The NCAA is so powerless right now. It's astonishing the amount of dumb that is in the NCAA offices.
