Lowe’s blows.
Holy crap! My parents ordered a new washer and dryer from Lowe’s and had delivery scheduled for today. The guys show up and remove the old washer and dryer and tell them that there will be a separate delivery and the guys take off. My mom calls Lowes and they tell her they don’t have a delivery scheduled until June 28th. Turns out the original delivery was scheduled for today but got delayed and no one postponed the removal of the old washer and dryer.

Yes. Two separate trucks, one for removal and one for delivery. The removal team comes out of Green Bay and the delivery team is local. And now they don’t have a washer and dryer.

I don’t understand the level of stupidity that it takes for this to happen. The guys came in and took the old one out and were packing up to leave and my dad was like “where are the new ones?” and the dude was like “different truck” so my dad thought nothing of it.

Time to make waves. If Lowe’s doesn’t bump up the delivery immediately, then go to twitter, insta, and Facebook (tag Lowe’s) to see if national can get movement where local wouldn’t. Go to the Mining Journal or local tv. Embarrass them into oblivion. Your neighbors need to know they could be the next to deal with this.

Does the Marquette Mining Journal still exist? My dad worked at the Ishpeming office in the 1960's.

Yes. Circulation is quite horrid though and TV6 is the go to source for local news.

I'd be so pissed off Motown.
Because it's a heavily used appliance, I would forget diplomacy. Fix the shit right now, or give me the new washer and dryer for free.

What Motown said. I was a stringer for the M-J when I was an undergrad. As you’re from Jackson, did your dad work at the Cit-Pat?

TV could probably tell a better story in this case. Plus, they can stream it to their affiliates in the state and elsewhere (CNN, for example, if the station has an agreement with them).
Edited to add: And you could share it with Reddit.

Not from Jackson, and no. Live on a farm SW of A2
Out of MSU J-School he worked for The Grand Rapids Press; The State Journal - Now the Lansing State Journal; The Mining Journal; The Bay City Times and then a series of weeklies in MI/MN/OR.
Re: Random Ramblings

No one in my family worked for the cit pat.
The only known Jackson thing I can say, is that my mom worked for the prison (nurse).

Milk from CFAA was awesome...best I ever had from a dozen or so criminal dairy farmers. Their cows were Brown Swiss, beautiful creatures. The farm owners took very good care of them. No milking machines.tGreenWay wrote:The Pantry wrote:Chelsea area? Use to be a member of the Community Farm of AA. You have to be very disciplined with garrotes. It's fine line between pleasure and pain.

That's about 20 miles north from me as the crow flies.

They only had 3-4 cows. $8/gallon 20 years ago, coupled wtih the 150 mile round trip to get it, but the quality was worth it.Trapper Gus wrote:The Pantry wrote:Milk from CFAA was awesome...best I ever had from a dozen or so criminal dairy farmers. Truth. Were you on campus when the student died from autoerotic asphyxiation? He was the older brother of someone in my school. The guy who died was a really nice guy and had a bright future. What a waste.
Meanwhile, Dendro and I have safe words and lines we won’t cross, although that line keeps getting harder to see. lol
