She was pissed. But I do believe Nebraska messed up the protocol. I like the passion, but I hope she wasn’t taking the loss out on some student manager who sets that stuff up.

It’s a busy week ahead as Caitlin Clark has her eyes set on breaking the NCAA scoring record while Brittney Griner will return home to Baylor to have her jersey retired.

Clark needs eight points to pass Kelsey Plum for the most points ever scored in the NCAA era. She’ll get her first chance on Thursday when Iowa hosts Michigan.

Iowa had a plane to catch because they wanted to get back in time to watch the Super Bowl (Clark is a big Chiefs fan).  Pretty sure it was pointed out (by Holly Rowe on ESPN, I think) that there would not be a big celebration (and long presser) for that reason (if she broke the record).  I think the plan all along was to break the record at home.  They had a big lead, and messed around in the 4th and got beat...which led to additional crankiness when Nebraska players began a presser first.

You got beat.  Let those (Nebraska) players have their moment.  Throwing a minor fit because your charter might be delayed a little bit is silly.  Build up YOUR sport (even if you lose).

not sure what was going on, but she was yelling about "this is not Big Ten protocol" then something about playing music during free throws.

I don't know, maybe she has a right to be pissed, but the (somewhat) public display of it it, albeit off camera, isn't a good look, esp. after a loss. It feels/sounded a lot more like poor sportsmanship.

If the Nebraska DJ used the PA system when Iowa was at the FT line, that’s bush league and the Big Ten office needs to make or enforce an existing rule.

Nebraska did what MSU nearly pulled off in Iowa City and Iowa wasn’t using their arena DJ when MSU was at the FT line.

They are playing scum. They are a weak team at multiple positions so Clark could go assist happy and not break the record until the 2nd or 3rd quarter.

Thing is, I can't believe some of the smoke she's getting. WTF? The whole Swoopes thing. She never inserted herself into it, or wanted it. She just kept her mouth shut and played on. Last year with LSU getting in her face and showing her their ring finger. WTF? She gets attention from the media, she's not putting anythig out there. I think she's unbelievably emotionally strong. She handles herself with class. I think falling down at OSU is the closest thing I've seen her to just losing it. The amount of pressure she's under and media scrutiny and in your face camera, and sell out crowds, she's a remarkable human being. I'm trying to think of another athlete, male or female, that has handled this type of thing so well. I'm wondering what the ratings of this game will be.

Look at the vitriol Taylor Swift received for.. [checks notes]... attending a football game.

Of course someone could dissect it to death, but we live in a social media-fueled bitter, divided society. I wish I could say that it's a passing phase, but I think it's a pretty accurate assessment of modern American society.

Seems like NBC could have sold a hell of a lot more commercials if they put it on "free" TV. But, I could be wrong.

here's the thing that sucks about this game being on Peacock (among other things)...

South Carolina - undefeated - is down 3 at the half vs Tennessee in Knoxville. So I'd normally toggle back and forth, during commercials in the Iowa game to watch that. Ain't about to log back into Peacock every time though.

Checked Peacock outage map and my home was in one of several as of 7:30. By 7:40 it was back up.

My time error was checking the Iowa web site.

Imagine the relief she's gonna feel when she scores that 8th point.
