No flip.
FSU is out.
Yeah, I agree. Bama or FSU for the final spot. All 5 are deserving. Bama looks like the most all-around team right now, so they are in IMO. But I ain't gonna fight you if you think FSU should be in.

It will be easier for the committee to justify leaving FSU out than any other team.

There needs to be a cloud over Harbaugh and his program.

Travis of the Cosmos wrote:Yeah if they’re having trouble figuring out which team to leave out they could consider leaving out the team embroiled in a massive cheating scandal on account of them having cheated this very season, I dunno just an idea.
Michigan cheating their way in last year should be enough for them.
Two years in a row, now that the cheating is out in the open, is one year too much.
Strength of schedule would have some meaning, too, if the playoffs were a real championship, instead of a TeeVee ratings grab.

I expect that there will be no further punishment or media leaks, sadly.
Re: General college football thread 2023
Texas #1
Alabama #17
Washington #23
OSU #41
Michigan #53 (cheaters)
Georgia #58
Florida State #63
http://powerrankingsguru.com/college-football/strength-of-schedule.php
So the four teams should be Texas, Alabama, Washington & OSU
Re: General college football thread 2023
Washington
Bama
Georgia
Texas
Will be:
UM (cheaters)
Washington
Florida State
Bama
If it's scenario 2, at least FSU is third and Bama fourth, for obvious reasons.

Re: General college football thread 2023
Texas & Washington one & two based on undefeated and SoS
OSU & Alabama three & four based on SoS & one loss to top team (or cheating team)
Michigan not in based on cheating & SoS
Georgia not in based on SoS & loss
FSU not in based on SoS

This will be their third CFP in a row, all since we know that the cheating began in earnest.Trapper Gus wrote:Travis of the Cosmos wrote:Yeah if they’re having trouble figuring out which team to leave out they could consider leaving out the team embroiled in a massive cheating scandal on account of them having cheated this very season, I dunno just an idea.

You'd think the CFP would be offended that UM swindled them to get in the CFP the last two years and snub them this year. But I have a feeling they (or the NCAA) is worried about a big lawsuit if they don't allow them in because of that and the investigation finds nothing.

It would be lol if Michigan sued over not getting in and had to go through discovery and a jury trial.

But no, nothing will happen... and I taught my kids wrong. Cheaters always prosper. In sports, politics, business.

It was LAKS that he clashed with over creating an athletic major and stream of classes. We were allowing athletes in at way less of needed GPA’s and rest score, but then made them swim in the same stream as all the students. If you’re in for a penny, Saban thought you should be in for a pound. LAKS and McPhearson didn’t.
