Maybe because I’m from metro Detroit and still live in Michigan, but the collective experience that the entire state would go through (except dwags) if the lions won the Super Bowl would be unbelievable.
I kind of am growing to hate the toxic rivalry shit around college sports. especially um msu. It’s too much. Way too much anger and negative vibes around a fuckin sports ball game. If msu won the national championship, me and a bunch of people I know would be over the moon excited, but another large group of people I know wouldn’t be, and I couldn’t share that with them the way I can with pro sports. In other words, for pros the whole state would explode (except dwags) if the lions won, but college only half the state gets to enjoy, followed by silly and childish shit talking and making people feel bad.
I’m probably not putting this in the right words. I still watch every msu game and badly want them to win. But I see the value in professional sports in their ability to uplift the whole region instead of just a select few in the region. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the fact that the lions winning would mean joy for downriver, Oakland county, east lansing, and Ann Arbor (except dwags) all at the same time. In fact, maybe in society we need more communal things like that instead of yet another thing that pits neighbor against neighbor
Travis, I'd be legitimately happy for many people I know who are great lions fans and have been shit on for years by the Fords. It was easy for the past 30 years being a packer fan. It wasn't easy for lions fans. I'd like the packers to beat theLions, but not as much as wanting them to beat the Bears. fuck the bears. So, to your larger point, I think it's easier for pro teams to unify the people around them than it is for college teams. I went to MSU, I want them to beat everyone and I'm passionate about it. Packers? Yeah, it's cool when they win, but I don't think I could ever have the passion for them like I do for the Spartans. Just not possible.
Man, you two Lions’ and Packers’ fans really hate each other.

It’s who you want to believe. We’ve also heard he demanded to be Tucks WR1 and Tuck said no. Then you add in geography…. Honestly who knows. We all forget these kids are 18, 19 20 years old. Unless you’re a hooker then you’re like 43. But my point is kids that age could be upset at a girl on campus and so they just say screw it I’m going to another school. We all think of the sport itself or the NIL deal. But who knows.
I’m inclined to believe what Germie said on the record primarily because it matches what I saw with my own eyes. What we heard about his demanding to be the #1 or #2 receiver might be true, but it’s only ever been rumor. BTW, I saw a tweet from Keon responding to Thind or Spiro (I don’t remember) in which he said it wasn’t true that other teams were recruiting negatively. Who the hell knows. If he stays, he stays, go green. If he goes, he goes, go green.

Strange thing about the #1 story is he left for a program that is returning two 1k yard receivers, both sophomores, and another 700 yard receiver. I don’t know why he left, and of course it could be due to many different things, but UW is already deep at the WR position.

Of course, a starting QB without a (known) reliable backup is more important than a WR. Â We've spent the offseason thinking Houser might be THE guy. Â But, we have no idea what's going on. Â I hope the Coach does. Â
Thind seemed to suggest it was basically an open competition between 3 guys. Â I can see how Thorne wouldn't like that. Â I think that's why he left. Â
Next man up. Â
I don't think a QB coming back from the portal is a good idea. QBs bear a heavier burden of being leaders. Can't just say, 'Hi guys, I didn't find anything better than you guys, I'm back'. This scenario has lockeroom issues all over it. A skill position player can tuck his tail for a bit and and quietly do his work. Go catch balls or tackle people and no one will care, unless your an ass.
Thorne has 2 years left to play. Good Luck to him.
Probably needs to go to a school with a new Coach, so he's not behind that much in learning a new system.
No idea which of these teams need QBs, but new Coaches at...
Auburn
Nebraska
Wisconsin
Louisville
Liberty
FAU
Tulsa
Navy
Arizona State
Purdue
USF
Coastal Carolina
Cincinnati
Stanford
UAB
UNLV
Charlotte

Well, she's pretty connected. So, if I was guessing, I'd say three left. One has come back, maybe one more is. Who knows. Till it happens, I'd say it isn't happening. When and if it happens I'll say wow, it happened.

I could be wrong but I thought a certain radio show hinted a Bama receiver was gonna be in green?

I heard that. If it’s the guy I’m thinking of, he’s insanely fast. Never started at Bama, not even sure he played, but spent his first 2-3 years somewhere else.

Apparently there’s another WR who has been offered. He’s a 6’4” “contested catch” specialist from Grand Valley.

We will have 11 guys on offense, one ball meets foot in the fall. You will have guys on the outside that are capable of making spectacular catches and will have quarterbacks that are able to throw to them.

And I don't care who's suiting up for the Spartans. I'll walk down, bum a Bud Light from DWags, take a shot or two at another tailgate, watch the SMB march in, and pull for the Green and White.
