Cold and dreary this morning. I was stupid and opened the windows before bed last night - woke up and thought I was going to freeze to death. Awkward time of the year where it's too warm to leave the windows closed, but too cold to have them open.

Rain and very dark, but word is it will get light in just a few hours.

Can't say that's never happened before anywhere near Superior.

Rained like hell for 5-10 minutes at work this morning but nothing since. Roof is still loud. Been about 5 years and still no significant hail storm. Can hardly wait till that happens.

Tornado came directly over the roof of my house. It really harmed my neighbors house across the street. It started on 15 and Groesbeck. Tree in my backyard was actually bending down to the ground and then whipping straight up. We were not warned We were not in a danger zone No sirens were going off I started screaming for my wife and daughter to get in the fucking basement. I have this big boot on my leg and I felt helpless. I think I might’ve re-injured it a little bit. I’ll find out tomorrow.


Let me tell you guys it really does sound like a train I’m without power now

Went Outside after Destroyed one of my sheds. Up rooted A tree and empty lot next to me. Took a shit ton of shingles off the top of my house that I won’t be able to assess until tomorrow. Destroy a bunch of my furniture in the backyard . Guys house across the street got it the worse.

We’re fine. Roof damage shed damage furniture in the back. I guess I’m stumped as to why no warnings.


I’ll send more pics in the morning.

Sounds like you went to the danger zone, Maverick, I mean Dwags. That’s fucking scary. So glad everyone is okay.

Glad to hear you are ok Dwags. When I went back to MSU I lived off campus in W. Lansing, next to 496, north of Potter zoo. Any way, tiny house, built on a concrete foundation. The tornado went over Potter park, I think. It went down Mich ave and took down a few of the old oaks (?) or whatever tree's they were. We huddled in the middle of hte house with comforters over us, because there was no where to go. That thing was probably a 1/4 mile to 1/2 mile away, and yes, sounds like a train going through. Can't imagine it going over a house.

Buddy of mine, old MSU football player, lives less than a half mile from the Fed EX in Portage. Zero damage to his house which is crazy.

Very glad you and yours are OK DWags. I hope your leg is ok.

It is a very scary experience. I think I've mentioned on here before that we were hit by a tornado (no injuries) several years ago. It's amazing how much a tree can bend. We lost 13 of them but not a single shingle.

Here's hoping your roof and house look better than you'd expected this morning.

June is the month with the most tornadoes in Michigan, with May and August tied for second. So actually no surprise to have them in May.
