This is just insanituy. God bless these kids getting what they think they should get. It's a free world. I honestly think that some of this shit is going to hurt some kids as far their draft status. I don't think coaches like Campbell or Belichick want these guys in the lockerroom. Who knows.
It’s Barrow’s 4th time in the portal. IDK what drives him there. Maybe he’s just looking for a higher paycheck. But whatever it is, like you said, people in the pros may think he’s more concerned about himself than the team or that he’s just flakey.
Everyone in the pros are more concerned about themselves than the team, what are you talking about.
Bo's lie about "the team, the team, the team" wasn't true and everyone knows it.

Another guy earlier this week.
On Tuesday, an MSU spokesperson confirmed to various publications that redshirt freshman running back Jaelon Barbarin and redshirt sophomore offensive lineman Braden Miller have both entered the transfer portal. This brings Michigan State's total number of transfers out of the program up to 22 players since former head coach Mel Tucker was fired amidst the 2023 season.

I think I read somewhere that the RB was the fastest one on the roster, but he gone.

Unfortunately after the infection, I just started walking again this week. As pathetic as this sounds I’m up to a quarter mile a day. I’d take a picture of my calf’s to show the board but it’s gross. I have had so much atrophy take place in three months. It sucks. Had the infection not happened I’d have been fine. Oh well.

Looks like the QB is now 11 yards behind the line of scrimmage when taking snaps out of the shotgun in short yardage situations. The rest of the time they are 14 yards back. Very modern stuff.

My oldest is always texting me and asking what we look like and are we improved at positions. I never have an answer for her because I really can’t tell when we’re against ourselves. Anyone says otherwise I can’t disagree but damn it’s hard to tell.
However, I really believe we are better at QB, by a lot. The other transfer # 10 doesn’t have the velocity as Chiles, but he sees a ton of the field and can spin it pretty damn well.
#9 Thompson on defense is going to be a load. Love Hall and Holloway together. Wish Hall had Holloway feel and vision and Holloway had Halls athleticism. But by mid season I bet they will be formidable.
My plan is only a couple home games and I think I’m going to try to go see red Sox vs twins and my first ever Fenway visit on the 20th and the MSU vs BC on the 21st.

That's a great idea. If the Red Sox stay in last place, tickets might be pretty cheap on the secondary market by late September.

Chiles also made a smart play when pressured, and threw the ball away.
Showed he can run.

My only expectation for this season is to see improvement from last season - it's hard to judge anything by the spring game, but it certainly looks like they have done that so far. Spring games are kind of stupid. On the one hand, you want to see explosive plays. On the other, you immediately start feeling nervous about one half of the team when the other half is able to pop off a huge play. If there is anything that can be learned from a spring game, I think it's that the team has much stronger coaching in place than we have for the past few years. How that will translate to wins and losses in the fall is anyone's guess. Still, loving some of these highlights to keep us entertained til August.

This, plus one.
Tucker's staff was beginning to look like Dantonio's staff did at the end.
Want to see the coaches and players engaged with each other all the time.

Mildly optimistic. There were also a few strange throws, and a couple of odd goal line play calls. Plenty to work on.

Unless Smith et al get hugely lucky in the portal a season at 500 will be the best I can expect.

Things can obviously change. As of right now, I'll be disappointed if we don't make a bowl game. I think we're in the 5-7 win range.

Would love a bowl game as it shows progress. Would just love to not have second half collapses in games, due to coaching, to start.

My late April, post-spring game, irrational injury-free optimism is going with 7-5.CaptainSlow33 wrote:NigelUno wrote:Nice touch on the TD pass to Carter, and nice zip on some crossing routes.

I think we start out 3-1, possibly 4-0 if things fall well, with a little luck and a turnover at the right time. The middle part of the schedule is a beast. Could possibly go 0-4 there, maybe 1-3, which would be difficult. How we respond after that stretch will tell the tale.

on this weeks installment of "Gates To The Portal", Jackmerius and his parents meet with the chair of the economics department as they discuss potential career paths at a prospective university; William is astounded to find out that his parents won't be guaranteed 4 box seats at each home game; Jalen gets a dose of reality when he finds out his girlfriend isn't interested in transferring with him, as she has found a new love interest.
