After adding alcohol to games... Wonder if there is any thought to allowing tailgating for the spring?

Has the spring game been announced? I feel like you've got a solid 2 months to heal up and limber up. You've got this - you just need a montage.

Pretty good article on the offense Smith/Lindgren employed. Guys, I think this might be fun.

Offenses the nfl should steal from colleges.

I do genuinely like that we've kept Florida Atlantic as regular guest stars on our roster. It's a program and university that feels likeable enough to me. Prairie View A&M, though? Best case scenario, you stand in front of the student section after the game and try to pretend like you just won the Super Bowl after kicking Prairie View A&M's dicks in. WORST CASE scenario, you make headlines on every single sports show in North America for being the Power 5 program that lost to Prairie View A&M on week 2. It doesn't matter that we have a competent coaching staff now and the worst case probably won't happen, it's just not a gamble you need to make.

Nah, fuck FAU to hell and back. I'll forever be bitter about their shit ass planning and building of their football stadium. We were supposed to be their opening game in their new stadium, but they shit the bed and it wasn't going to be built on time. It made up for it a little that we played Miami down here a few years ago, but still, fuck them Owls.

Also, I know a weirdly inordinate amount of FAU grads. Guys that frankly couldn't give two shits about their sports teams....except when they suddenly became "HUGE" college basketball fans for a week last spring, and who would be absolutely insufferable if they beat us in football, despite not knowing a single player on the team. I can't have that. Jonathan Smith, my sanity rests in your hands.

I legit think they can get that. Does that make me a homer? They won four this year and the coaching will be decidedly better, right? Wins against FAU, PVAM, at Maryland without Tagovailoa, Indiana, Purdue, Rutgers.

We’re giving Johnson 1.1 million and Hazelton 800K but only giving Barnett 600K? That sucks.

Harmon wasn’t a coordinator, so it’s less money. And I’m with my buddy in that I wish HB was still with our program in some way. Or maybe a broader role in the department. The guy is a Spartan from head to toe. Maybe he was offered a different position and declined because he wanted to keep coaching, IDK.

Jonathan Smith hasn’t coached a game or even led a practice yet at Michigan State but checked off an important first with his inaugural recruiting class.

If you can't have unrealistic overinflated expectations in spring ball, then when can you have them?

We are gunna win soooooooooo much.

I like the over, but we have no idea how the QB is going to play.

Vegas loves these bets. Get equal money on both sides, and they get to keep everyone's money for months.

Hey, I heard on 97.1 or some algorithm crunched all numbers, put in all schedules and spit out all possible results. Evidently the Tigers have a 26.7% chance of making the playoffs.

Might as well throw that in there, too

It will be interesting to see how things go there for him. He has the name to pull in recruits.

True, but his track record is highly mobile lately. Will he be there next year?

That’s what makes it interesting.

https://www.mlive.com/spartans/2024/02/michigan-state-footballs-new-look-team-making-progress-ahead-of-spring-practice.html

“It has still been exciting, great, a lot going on,” Smith said Wednesday night on basketball coach Tom Izzo’s weekly radio show. “I’ve really enjoyed these last few weeks because the recruiting travel (for the 2024 signing class) has been done, being able to get around our guys on the day-to-day, watching these guys go to work in the weight room and things like that. Starting to implement some scheme – offense, defense, special teams, that kind of thing. Really looking forward to spring ball starting here in about a month.”

Oh boy, back to coach speak!

I give up. Quavaris Crouch, yes that one, our ex LB and Tennessees ex LB is enrolling in an FBS school with two years of eligibility left. He’ll switch to running back. He sat out 22 and 23.

He might be 30 when he’s done.
