The NFL Draft has been a guilty pleasure of mine for a long time. There is no way I wasn't going to experience it. I did like it more when it started on Saturday at noon and I could listen Kiper and McShay battle while I was fighiting of my still young-guy hangovers. I always used that weekend to clean out the garage while listening to the later picks on the radio. Fuck I'm getting old.

Now it is a big TV production for commercials. Every pick somehow just somehow happens use all 10 mins of the clock. The delayed pick announcements so they can shove in TV commercials was nauseating. Watching it live, they have two MCs and a band. They both fucking suck and you just want them to read the pick. Just pump in the NFL Network, ESPN or ABC feed. We are here for football, not saxophone solos.

That said, the stage setup is fucking amazing. It is a sight to behold. It is enormous, The lights bright as hell and video boards are amazing. No matter how close we tried to get, we were still miles away from making out faces. And no mater how far away you are, you could see everything on the video boards and still felt like you were watching from the first row. It was pretty fucking cool being their with the Lions fan masses.

TL:DR: It was pretty sweet. We had a shit ton of fun.

Holmes & Campbell actually got in trouble with the League the first year because they knew who they wanted and hurried up to announce it. They did better last year but still didn’t use the entire 10 minutes, which upset New York again. Fuck Goodell. I love it every time he gets booed.

Smoke screeeeeeeeeeen didn’t even draft one and the cb they wanted dropped in their lap and the guy they wanted in the second round dropped while 11 wide receivers went ahead of him. Chess not checkers.

I don’t know if that’s true. Anyway they really didn’t pick a receiver to replace reynolds. Must have more faith in DPJ and that Green dude than I do. All good, they’re not hurting for dudes to catch the ball really just figured they’d pick one up in the mid rounds

Only two arrests over the 3 days downtown. Both for smoking weed in public. That in itself is incredible.
