Cousins' performance is not the issue, statistically he is among the top QB's in the league. The problem is what they are paying him - his cap hit this year is 31 million and 45 million next year (fully guaranteed).

They really can't afford the 2022 cap hit and they need him to restructure - which puts Minnesota in a very bad place in contract negotiations. I am sure they are looking at what other teams have received trading upper level veteran QB's and are looking at that option because they simply cannot afford his 2022 cap hit.

It never ceases to amaze me how incompetent most NFL front offices are (and how good Cousins' agent is).

We all love him as a Spartan. However, he’s the best they have, he is choosing to play a team sport. I don’t know that he thought this through. He has to ask that if he remains unvaccinated, will he hurt his team.
