Miles Bridges says he will take his time and talk to mom and coach about NBA future.

2nd round pick at best.

Someone tweet him that this is the official swill prediction and he shouldn't look any further for analysis.

Can't blame him if he wants to get paid and can get guaranteed money, not sure how the draft is stacking up, though.
He certainly would be better staying another year, I said with no ulterior motive.

Bridges reportedly likes school and to my untrained eye appears to be more ready than Deyonta Davis was last season.

However if his family lives in an area of Flint that hasn't had to drink bottled water for 18-24 months or they moved Bridges could stay another season without having that weigh on his decision.

I think he meets with Izzo, hears what he has to say and decides to go.

I'm gonna put the percentage of him coming back at a solid 5. He's an awesome kid by all accounts, who loves college. But he would smart to go.

only difference is he can win a natty and further hone his craft at msu next year. that isn't true in the case you presented.

Here's why (hypothetically) he would come back...he looks at the draft and thinks he'll go #16. The rookie salary for the first 3 years would be roughly...

16 $1,573,500 $1,644,300 $1,715,100

He decides to come back a year in hopes of getting drafted (let's say 6th). His salary for the first 3 years would be roughly...

6 $2,931,000 $3,062,900 $3,194,800

This will take some actuary guys, but I really don't know if you can chase 1.5 million that you would have had a year early. What does that do invested for a year before yu start earning more money? Also, if you're done with a rookie contract a year earlier and get to negotiate, can you make that bonus up?

I guarantee you that they have actuaries working in agents camps and those numbers are explained to the parents and Izzo knows them and it works out best for the kid.

I wonder, too, if the actuarial science guys can factor in the more subjective, intangible impact like seeing Eron Harris go down can have on such a decision?

The first 2 years at #6 > the 3 years at #16

It would take him an extra year to become a free agent, but that's pretty far down the road...not sure how much they would factor that in.
