I listened to it. It sounded like he was crying. Which, on one hand if it’s all a vast liberal conspiracy I guess I get. If not. What the fuck.

racist bigots (think the Tea Party folks who were so concerned with gov't spending) couldn't make any of their silly manufactured scandals stick to a bright, loved, humble black man with a wonderful family...Watch Out Pylon! wrote:steveschneider wrote:Didn’t see his press conference but the quotes from it my god. How did we get here? The people who support this clown are fucking morons.
So now they're taking their hatred out on a country that had the nerve to elect that black man twice
America is a stupid country.

WASHINGTON — The Senate Judiciary Committee inquired about at least one additional allegation of misconduct against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, according to a transcript of a phone call released by the committee Wednesday.
Republican Senate investigators asked Kavanaugh about the new complaint during a call on Tuesday between Kavanaugh and committee staff.

Re: The Supreme Court
true story: 20 years ago this month, the fine patriotic christians in the GOP released the Starr report. This guy revisits some of the major players:
Twenty years ago this month the Starr Report came out. Let’s review what happened to some of Bill Clinton’s antagonists. (1/7)
One of the House leaders, Henry Hyde, was revealed to have had an extramarital affair of his own. He called it a “youthful indiscretion” because he was, at the time, a mere 41 years old. (2/7)
House Speaker Newt Gingrich all the while was having an affair with a staffer. (She is now ambassador to the Vatican.) He stepped down as speaker. (3/7)
His anointed replacement, Robert Livingston, declined the job when it was disclosed that he too had an extramarital affair. (4/7)
Fortunately for the GOP, they settled on another replacement, who served for eight years. That man, Dennis Hastert, later served time in a federal prison for molesting young boys when he was a wrestling coach. (5/7)
Independent counsel Ken Starr went on to become president of Baylor University, but had to resign for turning a blind eye to sexual harassment (6/7)
But at least one of Starr’s young staff attorneys made good. Brett Kavanaugh is likely to become the next justice of the U.S. Supreme Court--unless, that is, someone discovers that he committed sexual assault or witnessed gang rapes while in high school (7/7)

Simpler times. I miss them. These days that kind of stuff is dismissed with a "Still better than the alternative."

“dais of preening and indifferent soup-brained octogenarian reptiles,“
It’s damn true. Ford came across as composed and credible. Lyndsey Graham is a fucking psycho, and Kavanaugh’s attempt to shame the committee out of asking questions like Clarence Thomas did with his “high tech lynching” billshit is disgusting.

In other words he totally is. I loved his politically charged rant. I'm sure he'll totally be objective on the court. Excuse the while I roll my eyes.

It was hilarious watching Cruz, who was drug through the mud, had his family treated like garbage by Trump, basically let Trump rest his nuts on his chin the get Trumps guy nominated. How does Cruz have any credibility in Washington?

Kavanaugh didn't come across as a spoiled rich frat boy who went crazy if he didn't get his way......not at all.
Oh yeah, and this is a Clinton conspiracy......
How does any Republican vote yes on confirmation. He exposed himself as the very same political hack he supposedly claim to be a victim of.

From everything I’ve read, he’s universally hated in DC.

IKR? How could he have possibly been a drunk with such good grades and admittance to good schools, and besides, Finestein held onto the accuser’s letter for 45 days before leaking it to the public!

I forgot to clarify. Maybe saying he played football wasn't giving him his due. He was a receiver AND a defensive back!!

Re: The Supreme Court
I found it interesting that he was quick to tell the committee that you should refer to the redacted part of testimony to discount a claim by someone who said he was an aggressive drunk because of their history with substance abuse.....
Yet over and over cited Judge as saying it didn't happen..... a guy Kavanaugh said was a raging drunk. So, you know, believe my drunk friend.

It's probably pretty hard to be a self described star at football and basketball AND a real good sexual assaulter. You gotta pick one.

Re: The Supreme Court
The republicans were smart not to question Ford themselves.
“During a break in the hearing, Senator Orrin G. Hatch, Republican of Utah, told reporters: “I don’t think she’s uncredible. I think she’s an attractive, good witness.” Asked for clarity, he said, “In other words, she’s pleasing.”
Also, it’s unfortunate that a lot of people take indignant anger to be some indication of truthfulness. More often it’s the opposite.
