I'm assuming it would hurt trump more based on ideology. But since trumpism isn't a practice of conservatism and just a cult of stupidity... I suppose I have no idea.
Any "anyone but trump conservative" should vote for him.?.? Not many republicans with morals though...
I doubt he has much national buzz... probably get the same libertarian votes in most states. Possibly more in Michigan/midwest.

30% of knuckle-draggin' christians are gonna vote for the racist, bigoted christian sexual predator no matter what.Cameron wrote:Politico: Justin Amash announces exploratory committee for president

I'd say Amash could pick off a few 'common sense' republicans (if there are any) that might otherwise stay home. He might be able to take a few from Biden, as well - people who might tend to lean right but are in no way going to support someone who brags about raping women and mocks disabled people.
This isn't a Perot, a Nader or even a Jill Stein type third party with a strong ideological leaning one way or the other. Amash has been very outspoken against the racist, bigoted christian sexual predtor while still trying to maintain his republican/libertarian status. Perot was a republican, Stein/Nader strong Democrats. I think, if anything, Amash could sort of draw a minimal amount of interest from people on both sides who aren't happy with the major candidates.
in the end, I suspect his presence will matter very little, if at all. That is even if he stays in it until November.

In a normal situation, this would be me. I'm 100% voting for Sleepy Joe, though.

I tend to think Biden because like others said, if they were going to vote for trump they aren’t going to peel off and vote for Amash instead. Seems more likely that it would be republicans voting for Biden that are attracted to a third option.

I think you're right. As a likely Biden voter, I'd at least consider Amash if he's on the ballot in November. Probably not many likely Trump voters who would do likewise, but I'm just going on intuition for that assessment.

America is much likely to accept stupidity from a racist, bigoted misogynistic male. In a lot of ways, Palin was victimized by our anti-female culture. Yes, she is as dumb as a bag of hammers.. but so is the racist, bigoted christian sexual predator. We hold women to a different standard.kingstonlake wrote:Cameron wrote:

(not to say that I sympathize with Palin, as she is one of the worst human beings imaginable but she was definitely a victim of a patriarchal society that she herself subscribes to. Hard to feel bad for her).

'Great a Rapist vs a Rapist'.
'a whole lotta people want somebody with literal shit for brains to be running this country.'
Literally seeing about 20 posts of pure vitriol towards Biden. At the end of the day I don't think these people got just how toxic the whole movement became. That's what happens when you believe you are morally superior and you fall in love with a cause as a group.
No one else seemed to want to talk about it when I brought it up a page or two back. But I'll go on record: I don't think he forcibly fingered that lady in a hallway. I think he probably did his regular creepy uncle shit, which is basically how her story went for a decade, but then she saw the me too explosion and got into Bernie and saw her chance.
But I find it extremely telling that there is basically the same amount of evidence here as there was with Kavanaugh, yet the response has been vastly different from the media and hypocrites like Alyssa Milano.
In summation, I have always thought "believe all women" was a silly and impracticable stance. Some women are liars.
I'm moving my gavel to the fence.

I think journalists would love to take him down. It would be the equivalent of winning a natty for them. We will have to see this play out a little bit bu I’m guessing he’s going to have to address it.

Has Trump done enough damage (just by opening his mouth), that anyone would have virtually the same chance to beat him?
Eliminate Bernie (just for discussion purposes...socialism!) and Biden...would Kamala, Warren, or Mayor Pete energize voters enough to take Trump down?

Re: The 2020 Presidential campaign.
Also, I think this is going to blow over. Even though it was a huge topic, I think a lot of dems are like Cameron and they didn't believe Ford either. I think a lot of people have issues with the metoo and don't believe accusation equals guilty or that they should pay a price with their career/legacy destroyed.
Also, the whole idea that Biden threw her up against the wall and said 'you're nothing to me' just doesn't sit right. Seems way out of character for someone that did this just one time. The Post definitely elevated the story yesterday so I guess we'll see if it sticks.

One thing... He has said if he runs for pres he wont continue his reelection for his house seat. Which means instead of him splitting the west mi vote allowing a chance for a dem... it will be that meijer douchbag vs. rando dem with the chance for a seat flip being much more remote.

uh oh, per mainstream media, Sleepy Joe "Wuhan" Biden has issues with the University of Delaware and them keeping secrets now..
Caution: Mainstream Media Link
EXCLUSIVE: Numerous top officials on the board of the University of Delaware, which is refusing to release Joe Biden's Senate records despite an earlier promise to do so, have close personal and financial ties to the former vice president, records reviewed by Fox News show -- and the chairman of the board even bought Biden's house in 1996 for $1.2 million, reportedly a "top dollar" price given its condition.

My thought is that Biden should withdraw and allow the DNC to nominate someone else. To be clear, I am under no delusion that this "someone else" would be Bernie or Yang or anyone I actually like.
But I had a similar feeling about Kavanagh. There were numerous people the GOP could have put forward instead, people without the accusations and baggage. But they didn't want to lose, didn't want to admit fault, and didn't want to let the other side score any political points, so they rammed him through anyway. Dems are gonna try the same thing.

He lead over those choices the entire way in polls. Should have specified. Maybe Mayor Pete had a day or two where he had a lead over him in the polls. In delegates yes, after Iowa and New Hampshire Pete had a lead over them.

Worth a read...

You might be shocked but I'm close to agreeing with you that it might be better to switch up. Here's the truth I'm not even that big of a Biden fan, I just thought form day #1 he was the best choice to beat Trump and I'm really a one issue voter this election which is to beat Trump.
If they could make a switch to someone like Cuomo I think he'd get the job done. Going off that article though this line "We can support the #MeToo movement and not support allegations of sexual assault that do not ring true. If these two positions cannot coexist, the movement is no more than a hit squad"
I don't really find Reade to be credible, not sure its fair to destroy someones career and opportunity over something that warrants a lot of skepticism.
