I definitely agree with you. The system needs a major overall.
I think the amount of schooling a physician goes through does not correlate with their pay and the hours they put in. At a minimum, a physician is in college/school for 11 years. But residencies can be up to 7 years. A fellowship is 1-2 years after that. You’re looking at a range from 11-17 years of training. Which they pay a high 6 figures just to complete the schooling/training. And being barely paid anything during that timeframe (nurses makes significantly more). While dealing with one of the most stressful jobs in the world, and working 24+ hour shifts while trying to keep people alive.
I think the work, schooling, stress, and dependence a physician has should be much more compensated.

Pharma and insurances need the most overall of them all.
Again, unpopular opinion, but that is why I think that.

I get part of that. What I don't know the details are how many y become multi-millionares while getting those salaries. The whole campaign funds/lobbying/insider trading thing makes up for it somehow.
I agree though, those salaries itself are not enticing. But those jobs all sound terrible to me. You will always have people who hate you.

Then again...most people hate me because of my job. I guess it's not publicized all the time.

Whomever is in charge of scheduling 24+ hour shifts for interns/doctors should be FIRED! All those responsible for allowing pharmaceutical ads to be played on TV and radio should be FIRED! At least 50% of all people in the medical insurance industry should be FIRED! Everyone currently teaching classes in medical billing should be FIRED!

The US medical industry has grown to be a colossal cancer eating away at the economy. They have carte blanche to charge anything they want.
