If you're gonna do Superior there minus well hit Devil’s Washtub.  Pretty wild place when the lake gets rough.  According to my parents and grandparents there were sometimes blocks of ice still in it in August.  Shouldn't have that issue mild as last winter was.







Long as you're up there checkout Brockway Mountain Drive.  Nice drive in the summer...beautiful in the fall.

Little Preaque Isle beach. Might be the most beautiful place in Michigan.

Little Presque is pretty amazing. And you can go out 100 yards and it’s no more than waste deep. Good stuff Nordic. I hope you enjoyed your visit.

Surprised they allow e-bikes at all, but it’s tied to the ADA. 20+ years ago the island elders wanted to ban motorized wheelchairs.

When did they do that, the early 00's maybe? It was ridiculous and I always thought it was the city of EL and their strict renters rules which forced that play....(of course, before the city council decided the city building boom was a good thing)

The plan to annex the property was the City Manager's idea and he sold it to council. He actually believed the move would "recapture" the neighbors where students were living. Think the 100 blocks of Stoddard, Gunson, Division etc. He thought young single families would buy those homes from the slumlords.

Instead of recapturing, those slumlords leased the homes to transients rather than MSU students. It backfired in every conceivable way.

Don’t forget the council at that time charged Ted with growing EL’s footprint. His contract contained bonuses for expanding the city. The rest is true, sadly, although there were a few exceptions, including a couple of student rentals in our neighborhood that reverted back to SFH.
