Gonna be in East Lansing tomorrow

Flight lands at metro at 11am - heading up to EL for the afternoon. Where should lunch be? Peanut Barrel, Crunchy's or El Az?

I have a confession to make. My dad loves El Az, I've never really been a fan. I never went to Crunchy's. I was at PB a couple times a week. My vote would be for PB. I guess I never realized until I was gone, how good their burgers are, especially for the price.

not sure.. but you just made me realize that I've eaten at all 3 of those places within the last 4 days... if it weren't for my commitment to working out, on top of a superior genetic disposition, I'd probably weigh 300 lbs.

that said, I'd go with Peanut Barrel.

I'm leaning to a rodeo burger and a draft on the patio.

One the first day Bob ate at Crunchy's and it was good. Not as good as it used to be, but still alright.
One the second day Bob ate at El Az, and he did consumeth an enchilada platter and it was good.

On the fourth day Bob talked about going to HopCat, but we all know he really didn't, and that was good.
On the fifth day Bob made plans for travelling up north.
On the sixth day Bob rode his bike.

Not yet, but I'm with ya on fuck chains train. Too many everywhere, EL is no different. I tend to try to avoid them.

their beer selection is pretty good too - I was there two nights ago. PB beer selection has gotten better, as well.

not that I noticed - but I did have a black lager from Perrin.. followed by a Budweiser.

The riv is still there, and solid. Burgerama might still be the best time at a bar I've had. It has it's nights.

as far as traditional bars go, the best are in Lansing.. Stobers, Arts, The Unicorn, Leroys, Dagwoods...

as far as EL joints go - we know what's there.. hard to beat PB but that's coming from a upper 40's local who has never stepped foot in The Riv or the Landshark or any of the other places that pharmaceutical companies and makers of antibiotics dream of.

Morts was our hangout when we stopped going to E. Lansing bars. I used to watch games at Arts Pizza (corner of Kzoo and Penn, I think), they had pretty good beer deals and the food was decent.

Can someone explain the whole Burgerama thing to me? I've seen tons of references over the years. Whatever it is must have started after I graduated because people just went to the Riv to drink.

I think maybe between 4 and 7 on Tuesdays burgers were $1 if you purchased a beverage. It was something like that, super cheap burgers.
