Replay by Ken Grimwood
Day After Tomorrow by Allan Folsom (no affiliation whatsoever with the bad movie.)
Does that second recommendation have anything to do with that bad movie?
Yes.

About halfway through seal target Geronimo. Not big into war shit at the moment, but the manhunt of osama bin laden has always been intriguing to me.

I started reading the Bill Walton book. I like Bill, and respect all he's accomplished. He's excelled at both athletics and academics but not sure I could recommend 300 pages of Bill to anyone. It's an easy read though and will carry on.

Would love to hear more Steve. I’ve always had that book on my radar but haven’t pulled the trigger yet. What you say makes sense as i believe it got mixed reviews.

BTW and FWIW... I consume a bunch of books and my favorite author is this guy...
Christopher Moore
Can't go wrong with any of them. Faves are probably "Lamb" or "A Dirty Job"... but as I said, can't go wrong with any. Also, a good twitter follow.

There was a write up about him in the NYTs the other year and I think you could probably just read that and get the gist of what it's all about. It's a pretty light and easy read so far. I do love the art work in the book. If you are in the store and decide not to read it open it up to around the front page just to see the art inside the book. There's one towards the end as well.

Has anyone read American Sniper? I have it sitting right here, think I got it from a library sale. I've seen the movie, have a lot of mixed thoughts on it..

The girl with the dragon tattoo is really good so far. Avoided watching the movie and it’s got my attention early.

If you watch the movies, check out the original Swedish versions of the series first.

Finished Station Eleven today. Post apocalyptic environment set in Michigan actually. Pretty good, ending could have been better.

Kyle Mills picked up the late Vince Flynn Mitch Rapp series, but I’ve been too stubborn to read his efforts. Figured Rapp died with Flynn. Maybe changing my mind and giving Mills a chance to see how he does with the character.

I read one his books a few years ago. I liked his style and bet he can pull it off. Flynn hand-picked him to take over Rapp's story. Despite having a Kindle for years I rarely use it because I really prefer paperbacks, but I'm not paying $10 a book either so I go this used book store in Warren a couple times a year and load up. Problem is there are never any of Mills' books in stock. They go out just as fast as they come in.
tldr; I'll never be able to read another Mills book again because I'm a cheap ass.

That's good because when I was out for a walk yesterday I noticed my local Family Video is closing. Not even bringing in CBD products could save them.

I read one or two of his earliest stuff, coincidentally, books I bought used at the ELPL. Can’t remember much about them, but do think I enjoyed both. I just have had a hard time wrapping my head around someone else writing the stories of Mitch Rapp.
btw, speaking of someone else writing Rapp, that American Assassin movie was okay, not great but not horrible. But the casting for Rapp and Kennedy was wrong. I thought it was creative to place Michael Keaton as Hurley, though even he went overboard a couple of times.
