There are many centralized locations, though. Not everyone in the country has to move to one place. Not everyone in the state has to move to GR, Detroit or Lansing.

I'm not concerned with macro/micro economics. I've never paid attention to that type of stuff. I pay attention to what can I buy at a low enough cost and who is willing to buy it at a higher cost. Or, do I have a video that's getting a lot of views that I can get advertisers to pay me to use my space? Or, how many businesses need a website that don't realize websites are just made with templates nowadays?

I don't feel like getting caught up in whatever reason you're trying to tell me I can't make money for myself with.
But apparently the "not real world" has been pretty good to me so far. So I'll continue to operate in the world that doesn't exist and let everyone else complain about the "real world" if it's really as bad as you guys are saying it is.

I can't stand employers with attitudes like that. They'll never get the best work from their people and they sure as hell aren't building any loyalty. And I agree that someone going out in their own will do eons better, but as I said earlier, it's just too much pressure or overwhelming for some people. My wife and I each ventured off in our respective areas and it has turned out well, but for some, they think the risk is too great.

It's an OK place year around. I like The Raven as far as coffee shops go. Some good lake kayaking up the shore toward Harbor Beach.

Fantastic individual player. When put in a situation where he had to have a broader understanding of the game, he was a complete failure. Being a successful individual player did not give him any significant insight to the broader aspects of the game.

I wasn't really trying to have a conversation about broad economic trends. My entire point was contesting the idea that millenials are staying home with their parents because the people that owe them a paycheck aren't giving them what they believe they're entitled to because they spent all this money at a university and that somehow guarantees them a living. You don't need to have a degree in economics to learn and understand how to make money for yourself outside of the machine.

Simply dismissing economic trends is convenient and sure makes your perspective really easy to defend. I also enjoy the contradiction that is the first and last sentences of your post.

You can dismiss the perspective all you want but it's always been pretty simple to me. I never liked relying on someone else for my living. That's my journey... If someone doesn't mind relying on someone else or a corporation for their living then that's fine, do you, but to take that mindset and then complain when it's not working out and that for some reason it "has to because I spent all this money partying every weekend" seems a bit entitled in my view.

We disagree on it. You sound like you have success doing things your way and I applaud you for that. I've done alright doing things my way and I'll continue doing that until it doesn't work anymore (and I've run into things where they've stopped working and so you adjust). I'm just offering my perspective that there's another way outside of the machine and it takes a changing of the mindset.
