CBS: March For Our Lives Crowd In D.C. Smaller Than Expected, Just A Quarter Of Organizers’ Estimates

There’s always a discrepancy between numbers gathered by the pros and numbers gathered by an event’s organizers — ahem — but 200,000 and 800,000 is a bigggg discrepancy. It’s hard to look at a fourfold overestimate and not see bad faith rather than misjudgment. The organizers could have guesstimated 500,000 to try to top the Women’s March but I think the benchmark they were looking at was different: Mashable notes that 800,000 would arguably put them ahead of Trump’s inauguration crowd. If you’re looking to send a message with your left-wing rally, it makes sense that you’d want to show your political muscles are bigger than MAGA Nation’s rather than those who came out to oppose Trump in the Women’s March.

I don't know and don't care and wasn't aware until goose gave out the numbers again, who cares Either way the size of the crowd doesn't take away from the statement these kids made and they should be applauded.

He’s blinded by his anger. Even if the crowd size in DC and across America is at the low end estimates the dinosaurs are missing two points:

1. This was the largest youth movement since the 60’s. Not adults, count the number of youths. It was amazing

2. This March was a single issue March. And everyone knows it. This will be different.

In all on Wednesday night, the liberal broadcast networks of ABC, CBS, and NBC dedicated a combined seven minutes and 26 seconds on Collins’s arrest. ABC’s World News Tonight spent the most time with two minutes, 50 seconds. CBS Evening News came in second with a total of two minutes and 37 seconds, while NBC Nightly News brought up the rear with one minute and 59 seconds.

The accusations against Collins were serious and deserved to be covered fully. But this coverage exposed a blatant double standard by the liberal networks. On two notable occasions, the three major broadcast networks had either downplayed charges of corruption against Democrats or ignored the legal proceedings altogether.

In the summer of 2016, Florida Democratic Congresswoman Corrine Brown was indicted on 24 federal charges in connection to a “fraudulent education charity” she was running. At the time, the networks ignored it. And in May of 2017, when she was finally convicted on those charges, the three networks were also nowhere to be seen. The networks were also out to lunch when she was sentenced to five years in prison.

So, let’s recap: The liberal networks spent over seven minutes on just the arrest of a Republican House member, but spent zero time on the indictment through the sentencing of a Democrat. What a blatant double standard. But of course, they all made sure to note that Collins was one of the first members of Congress to endorse President Trump in the presidential election.

I'm not surprised. The press is, after all, the enemy of the people.
