in a cynical sort of way, I suspect Native American tribes might benefit more from idiot white people doing stupid things like using them as sports mascots, dressing up like them at at Halloween, etc - as the more white folks misunderstand them, the less likely we are to ruin their history, their way of life, their culture, their spirit with typical white-people stuff.
