Just read the NYT article on this. This whole scandal is horse shit in my view. what a waste of our tax dollars to investigate it and it is sad that people are going to get arrested/ lose their jobs over this. Time to overhaul college sports and treat it like the amateur league that it is.

If you see my post above about Jaylen Brown and if you do a search on here you'll see I've posted about it in the past. I'm no investigative journalist, im just some dumbass posting on a sports board and even I could spot something fishy just by reading the news paper. I'd bet good money Jaylen Brown got some money to go play for Berkeley and his claim that he wanted to play for an adidas school always stood out as odd to me. Why choose a school based on their affiliation with a sneaker company over the type of education that would fit your major, or even the coach you'd actually want to play for?

I know this is never going to happen but part of me wants scholarships eliminated from college sports altogether. Make it more DIII than anything.

I have been saying that for years. Others think the product quality will suffer from loss of talent. I think that is the price to pay. You can't really carry on this illusion that you are watching amateur college basketball. Or maybe some can or just don't care. Places like Louisville and Kansas are the biggest money and biggest packed arenas. They will be back and then there are the ones that are naive enough to believe their school is legit because they don't go down over this. That includes us MSU fans. Although we believe we really are clean. Every Other fan base thinks the same until they get caught

What about Josh Jackson and Prolific Prep. Adidas funds that prep team which isn't even a school but just a basketball team but somehow that is legitimate? It seems the whole place was built based on getting Josh Jackson there and then he goes to KU Adidas school.
But then I did juat see Gary Trent transferred there and is going to Duke (Nike).
