MSU is now 2-2 and will face LSSU next weekend for a double home series in EL.

phew, close game, went up 4-0, LSSU came back in the 3rd but we held on, 4-3. Lethemon is now 3-1 with a 2.55 GAA on the year between the pipes.

With every goal scored, solid defensive plays, clutch saves and victories, the confidence of Michigan State’s players rises, and their commitment and belief in new systems and roles is rewarded.
Three weeks and six games into the season, the Spartans have already won four games, and on Saturday, they enjoyed the feeling of sweeping a series with a dominant 6-0 victory over Lake Superior State at Munn Arena.
The rewarding weekend started with a 4-3 win over the Lakers on Friday. But MSU (4-2) wasn’t satisfied with just one win. It set its sights on back-to-back victories, a successful series sweep, something which hasn’t happened at Munn Arena in two years.

SPARTAN POTPOURRI: Mitchell Lewandowski and linemate Taro Hirose share the Spartan scoring lead with nine points apiece. Lewandowski has three goals and six assists while Hirose has two goals and seven assists.
Patrick Khodorenko has a team-leading four goals and three assists for seven points. Meanwhile, junior forward Cody Milan is tied with Khodorenko with seven points – one goal and six assists.

UP NEXT: The Spartans make their 2017-18 Big Ten debut with a two-game series at No. 7 Minnesota on Friday and Saturday. The teams meet at 8 p.m. on Friday and 5 p.m. on Saturday at 3M Arena at Mariucci in Minneapolis.
The Gophers (5-3 overall, 1-1 Big Ten) are coming off a home sweep of No. 9 Clarkson, 3-1 and 2-1.
Last year, MSU finished the regular season at Minnesota, losing the series opener, 4-0, and tying the second game, 1-1, and winning the shootout, 2-1.

IN THE BIG TEN: Michigan bounced back from Friday’s 5-4 overtime loss at No. 15 Penn State to earn a conference series split with a 5-2 victory on Saturday. The Wolverines (4-2, 1-1) built leads of 3-0 late in second period and 5-1 early in the third. The Nittany Lions (4-4, 2-2), who have split four series, didn’t suffer their fourth loss last season until Jan. 28, 2017, in their 22nd game.
Wisconsin, ranked No. 5, failed to sweep previously winless St. Lawrence as the Saints (1-7) upset the Badgers, 6-3, on Saturday. Wisconsin (6-3, 1-1) defeated St. Lawrence, 4-2 on Friday.
Ohio State won its fourth straight game extended its unbeaten streak to six games with a 3-1 win on Saturday over Robert Morris in Pittsburgh. The Buckeyes (5-1-2, 1-1) topped the Colonials, 5-3, on Friday in Columbus.
Notre Dame played a Thursday-Friday series against Nebraska-Omaha and came away with a split. The Irish (4-3-1, 0-0) suffered a 6-4 defeat on Thursday but won the series finale, 5-4, on Friday.
There are two Big Ten series set for next weekend. In addition to MSU’s visit to Minnesota, Notre Dame is at Ohio State on Friday and Saturday.
Wisconsin, Penn State and Michigan are involved in non-conference series The Badgers play at No. 4 North Dakota and Penn State plays host to Mercyhurst on Friday and Saturday, while Michigan is home against Ferris State on Thursday and Friday.

Would be nice to get a W in this double home series in EL but Wisky has looked quite good. Odd angle is that Wisky's coach is Tony Granato and he's the Mens Olympic team coach too so he's over in Europe right now and won't be here to coach.... hmmmm we still probably won't win

Well it’s tough since Cole walked in to a rebuilding rebuild of a team. I predicted 9 wins which is two more than last year and last year had more
Proven talent. This group features some really surprising young pieces that are skating well. Depth and team defense are big holes. We could win a few more games then expected but I wouldn’t say we’re “good”.
