Re: The political hodge podge thread
Propublica is trying to find out why Brett Kavanaugh spent 200,000 bucks on Nationals season tickets for "friends". Fox is not happy about it.
https://www.propublica.org/getinvolved/brett-kavanaugh-nationals-baseball-supreme-court?utm_campaign=sprout&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter&utm_content=1534125848
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2018/08/13/propublicas-appeal-for-dirt-on-brett-kavanaughs-baseball-outings-called-desperate-and-hilarious.html
I don't know. I think it's legitimate to ask why an appointed judge spent a huge amount of money on tickets and then was supposedly reimbursed. Did he want all his buddies near him and so bought the tickets together? Was he just doing a solid? Was he trying to influence someone with gifts? Who paid the 200K back? For a supreme court judge, these are not unreasonable questions.

Goose's version of America isn't complete unless people with whom he disagrees aren't less well off than himself.
Trump is more interested in selling off the Alaskan tundra and parts of national land for mining and oil exploration while fucking over those in the bottom 80%

The knee jerk horror at suggestions of socialist policies are going away. In the post war boom, Unions served to keep the distribution of wealth fair(ish). Now we're back to a gilded age of huge income inequality and inequitable distribution of wealth. Young folks know they're getting screwed. When the old guard says that running on socialist platforms will fail, they show themselves to be so out of touch. It's weird because economically, the right continues to trumpet the fear mongering of the cold war, but refuses to accept that Russia is still fighting it and we're losing.

So what do we call the laws that force all of us into participating in monopolies in our day to day existence?
Cable company bullshit, Car dealerships, Insurance, and millions of other examples etc etc etc...
Where are the "conservatives" calling to de-socialize markets pertaining to this stuff?

Dems are against straight ticket voting....until it might hurt an opponent. Then they're all for it.
I still don't believe you people think this shit is all one sided.

New Mexico Reinstates Straight-Party Voting Just in Time to Thwart Gary Johnson
Democratic secretary of state in heavily Democratic state unilaterally changes voting rule in a way that favors Democrats (and punishes Libertarians). Republicans say they’ll sue.
In a sudden move with suspicious timing, New Mexico Secretary of State Maggie Toulouse Oliver, an elected Democrat, announced today that voters in November will once again be able to vote for every candidate of a political party on the ballot by filling in just one blank. The option, known as the "straight-party" device, gives obvious advantage to parties with high voter-registration totals, while erecting roadblocks to otherwise over-performing candidates from third parties.
Like, say, Libertarian Senate candidate Gary Johnson.

Sorry to interfere with your circle jerk.
I'm sorry you're unable to process facts that counter your cultish beliefs.

Pylon could sack up and ban me, that would suppress a dissenting viewpoint. It fits very closely with his political philosophy. I've already had another moderator here that deleted a post. Frankly I don't give two shits what the mob thinks. I know what I believe and peer pressure won't change it.
It's like all the McCain suck up because he was "courageous" and "crossed the aisle" - as if they think that's a great thing in a politician. Yes, it was great for Dems when he betrayed the people that elected him.....now give me an example of a Democrat McCain? One that was courageous and crossed the aisle to betray the Democrats on an important vote?
I remember one that did that - Joe Lieberman - they primaried his ass. Maybe if that's too hard to ask for ol' Pylon could tell me that the economy sucks, unemployment is up, etc, etc. Or perhaps someone could tell me about climate change killing the world when Artic sea ice is growing for the 12th straight year?
Still haven't had any of the geniuses from the party of science tell me how many genders they recognize. And if you get to choose your gender why they're so fixated on the male/female thing - everyone can switch back and forth as convenient.
