All that is required to buy a rifle or shotgun in Texas is a valid photo ID (Driver’s license) be 18 or older and be a resident of Texas. That includes felons who have served their sentences because it’s a Texan’s right to protect their home.

It’s illegal for a felon to purchase a handgun in Texas but the shooter used what is classified as a rifle.

So my eldest came home with her boyfriend and some teammates yesterday because all the kids including her sister are going to see somebody called Kodak Black last night in Royal Oak.  Wife and I were feeding them dinner and we had the t.v. on in the kitchen while preparing.  Anyway, one of the kids is in the kitchen and says to me, "Ever notice how he describes terror attacks differently, depending on who perpetrated them?".  I was a bit taken back, perhaps these college kids pay attention to things other than Rama at the Riv and the specials at Ricks.

it's refreshing to see kids engaged (I use the word "kids" respectfully).

I think the fact that they grew up in a time where people have always been manipulated by the "news" and social media possibly makes their judgment a bit more keen and they are able to discern words and actions more mindfully.

That's my hope, anyway - we're going to need this generation of our kids to save us.

The hypocrite Ted Cruz rebuked a reporter's question about gun control because now is not the time to be political, then in the next breath praised the man who responded to the shooting by picking up his own AR to take down the mass murderer and God knows how many lives he saved by doing that.

Just googled it, very likely he was shot and then killed himself.

At this point, I'm not even sure he was shot. The police statement I heard said he called his father and told him he'd been shot and wasn't sure he'd make it, then he shot himself, but I haven't heard that he actually was shot. Small details I guess, but they could become important when certain groups try to glorify certain things about certain people.

Anyway.
