Shooter is a 26 yo Devin Patrick Kelley. Pastor was out of town but says his 14 yo daughter is among the dead.

Lots of misinformation being bandied about about the shooter already. I don’t understand why people think that’s warranted or funny. People don’t seem to get that there’s no internet you and IRL you. If you’re an asshole on the internet, you’re just an asshole.

If this is true he was breaking laws the minute he picked a gun up....yet somehow people convince themselves that 5 more laws would have somehow deterred him. There's no logic in that whatsoever.

The dishonorable discharge is based on a general court-martial conviction. This means the conviction is a felony, regardless of what the underlying offense may have been. The convicted felon is banned from possessing a firearm including Title II Firearms (a Silencer, SBR, SBS, AOW, or Machine Gun)

I don't know. I think I am an asshole on the Internet but a pretty cool guy to have a beer with in real life.

But I think it is a little different when it is personal. Of course there are in fact asshole(s) here that cross that line.

Just think how many bad guys he could have dispatched if he were carrying a semi automatic rifle with a bump stock. Clearly this good guy was ill prepared for self defense if he was carrying a pussy boy weapon like a stock .38 or something...... The NRA isn't gonna like this.

Somebody sold the weapon to him, bought it for him or he stole it from a careless owner who didn't look it up.

If 20 children and 6 adults killed at Sandy Hook Elementary in Connecticut in Dec '12 got the more laws won't change anything crowd to keep the status quo why should 25 people dying after being shot in a Baptist church 1900 miles away 5 years later change things.

Thought and prayers. Again and again and again and again.
