The USAF failed to report spousal abuse which means USAF didn't have adequate procedures to make sure their reporting systems automatically dump into the Federal data base.

Since its budget time, should we expect the Congress to propose additional spending to make sure the US military along all states and territories have an improved IT pathway to quickly report all convictions?

The same majority in Congress has not increased ATF funding to audit gun dealer sales log books or require gun dealers to upload sales data to the ATF.

But we will always have thoughts and prayers.

Now that goose has found his angle, he'll stick around for a bit. Here's mine: Regardless of the fact that a "good guy" with a gun shot him. He was able to go through 15 magazines of 30 rounds each. Nobody stopped this shooting. This was a failure of the system in place, but a more serious acceptance of the reality of this epidemic is needed so that there's a concerted effort to make these databases complete and also to get these assault style rifles off the streets. Outlaw these fucking things now.
