Man, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been splitting wood near a relatively busy road. If a cop rolled up on me and told me to drop the ax I think I’d have been confused about what was happening long enough to get shot in the head based on how long this guy had.

I read the comments too. The boot lockers are all “what if he threw the ax” which, you can tell they’ve never split wood. That isn’t the ax that you get at “ax” throwing. Those are hatchets. There is no circumstance in which throwing that ax is going to present and danger to the cop from that far away. Even if he managed to get it over his head, wind up long enough, throw a randy Johnson dime right down main street of the cops skull, he’d have more than enough time to simply step aside and avoid it. There’s just no excuse for murdering this guy.

What's funny is that last quote from the mental health advocate is really correct but that's essentially what "defund the police" is about. We know they aren't social workers but it's almost caked in the duties. O well hopefully this helps but man that's a really odd way to fund mental health.

Comments from the DA were pretty critical of the cop and suggested he’s going to face charges. I haven’t seen a follow up to this story. As for the accused car thief, it might be the result of a law already on the books. Do a crime resulting in the death of someone and face a homicide charge, ie murder/2nd, manslaughter, etc.
