Fuck Michael Jordan
Biggest cry baby in all of sports. Humble brag but I never owned a piece of clothing with his logo on it.

He was. He also had every ref and a commissioner helping him out along the way. Bulls down by 6 end of the game with a few minutes he’d either get every call or get away with contact. His last shot vs Utah is symbolic of his career.

Growing up a Pistons fan, I agree, fuck Mike! Purely, because he was not on my team. Fuck him*.

I never liked Chelios for the Wings. Easily my least favorite Wing ever. Happy when he scored, but not happy that he was the one who scored.

The one sports franchise we had in our state that could have become a Yankees/Patriots/Celtics level dynasty and the league had to go off and fuck it all up. I think a dominant Red Wings would have been better for the sport.

As a kid, I hated Chelios, simply because he played for Chicago. My buddy and I were sitting at The Riv having a nice day beer when we heard that Chelios was traded to the Wings. We were dumbfounded, but I loved the trade. Now Chelios is back to his roots in Chicago, so fuck him.

Re: Fuck Michael Jordan
Whatever you guys think about him, or his level of greatness, the venom that you pistons guys still, to this day, have for him is cool as hell. As I said in another thread, Detroit wings and pistons fans got a decade of just being able to go watch a hockey match or basketball game and have this evil nemesis that you wanted nothing less than death of. The AVs and the Bulls. That kid of stuff doesn't seem like it's happened in the last couple of decades in sports. Maybe the Red Sox and Yankees when the Sox came back in the series. But that's fun. It's what makes sports.
Me? I think Jordan was the best ever. A freak. Not shaking hands? Meh, who cares? The pistons got their 2 hour ESPN tribute already. They got to tell their story. It was fun to watch that too. This is Jordan, who won three times as many and launched an Industry that went crazy. Hell, there was a group of investors that would just invest in what he started endorsing. So, now it's the bulls turn. I think they could have gone deeper into the hate between the two franchises, but it was probably good enough.
Edit: And John Sally? Fuck him, the mistake ESPN made was having him on after. He's way too nice and thoguthful. Needed Laimbeer, Mahorn or Thomas. Interview them afterward SVP. John Sally wouldn't say shit if he had a mouthful. Get Laimbeer on. That would have been way more fun.

I will never understand how Isiah gets snubbed when people talk about the all-time greats. Was he an asshole? Maybe but pound for pound is a top 10 player ever. His performance on one leg in game 6 of the 88 finals was the best I've ever seen. the guy took down Magic and Jordan in their primes.
But for some reason nobody wants to talk about Zeke when they talk about Magic, Bird and MJ. Shit, we hear more about guys like Barkley. Leaving Thomas off the dream team was criminal. John Stockton? Give me a fucking break. When they met after the dream team was announced Isiah destroyed him.

For the most part I agree. But if you take a look at his sideline demeanor with officials he’s basically crying for calls. Much the same way Jordan did. It’s called getting an edge wherever you can. Both did/do it. I’m ok with it.

I really think it's because the NBA and large portions of the media hated the Pistons. Hated them for crashing the Lakers/Celtics party (more so than the 76ers or the Rockets with their brief attempts), hated them for the tough defensive style that stifled flare players, and hated them for the Jordan Rules that kept their latest darling in check. So they aren't going to give the leader of that team the credit either.

Yeah Paul can't even suck Isaiah's cock let alone be in the same atmosphere as a ball player

Though I didn't watch it, in general I can imagine what you're talking about, as I see Salley more like the modern athletes that I mentioned in the other thread where everyone feels like they need to be buddies with everyone on the other team.
Speaking of that, the Isaiah/Magic friendship and pre-game kiss was cool in it's rareness, but it was also cool how quickly that went away once things tipped over (I still remember their fight in one game). I suppose that my affection for both also made it seem cool.
