I read this morning that Joe and Bernie put her on the climate committee, so that probably put her over the hump.

She might not even win her primary, the days of AOC and the squad may be coming to a close. I do think she represents her district well and is a good voice to have in the house but I think she's over estimated her importance in American politics.

Here’s a pretty good example of why you see the results you do in 2016 primary vs general votes re: Sanders for those that can’t quite grapple with things in the abstract and need a solid example to hold on to. It shows why the oft cited criticism of sanders people around here is super off base from reality. There were a lot of people like this guy then that there simply were not this year.

So he was really mad that a couple protesters wouldn't leave the chamber when asked, had to be forcibly removed, kicked the sergeant at arms repeatedly, have deemed this next protest "Judgement Day" and decided to go all tough guy on the S of A doing his job.
Cool story, Bernie Bro from New Hudson.

Cameron probably has the link and I know you don't like polls but one that came out in this primary showed a decent chunk of Sanders supporters were going to vote for Trump.

Whitmers fault. Â She declared a national emergency after she ignored it originally, completely dropped the ball on testing, guidelines, and disregarded science. Â Can't blame them for voting for Trump after all she's done to hurt us!

Good news is I think this party is more unified this go around. I got my mail in info for the June primary. Going to vote for Biden this June and November.

It's an old poll at this point. I actually think the party is doing a good job of unifying and I only brought it up for a chuckle.

It’s fine, it’s really not necessary. You don’t have to.
The point isn’t that there’s a bunch of evil sanders supporters out there who would prefer trump to Biden because they didn’t get their way. Though, that’s how it’s painted. How it’s painted is stupid, shortsighted, and wrong.
The point is that there are a bunch of people like this, who under no circumstance are democrats, would never vote for a democrat, would have voted for trump even if sanders won the primary, that voted for sanders in the past. That doesn’t mean they they are progressive votes that are pissy about sanders not winning. Not by a long shot.
Just to be even more crystal clear for the msnbc cable news crowd out there- if sanders had won the primary, that poll would look very close to the same. You’d STILL have people that voted for sanders that vote for trump in the general. And a lot of them.

Re: The 2020 Presidential campaign.
I saw he gave AOC some position on the environment today and she endorsed him. I suspect his vp will either be Warren or Harris (both who are for medicare for all). I think Biden has done a better job than HC did at reaching out to the progressive wing. I think he's setting them up to have a good future in the party. I also think that Trump is so awful the issues we had unifying the party won't be as significant as it was in 2016.

The main thing I like about Biden's campaign these days is I don't even have to think about it. He will be a great set it and forget it type of president. I miss those days. Last thing I want is another goddamn attention whore in the White House.

It's May. National polls are (mostly) irrelevant in an electoral election. Polls didn't mean crap in 2016.
It's certainly possible that Biden can sit back while Trump implodes. Seems like getting another voice would be a good idea.

Call me old fashioned, crazy or whatever but I still believe in the polls. I think even in 2016 with standard deviation the polls weren't that far off. It's funny the whole way through I've seen 'Biden is too old', 'Biden can't string a thought together', 'Biden needs to win over the youth', 'Biden needs to release his records from the University of wherever' and in spite of all the arm chair pundits that be hating Biden keeps blowing it out. I think Biden really just needs to keep being Biden it's working.

I'm not convinced that it's Biden being Biden that's working. I suspect it's more Trump being Trump that explains the polling numbers.

For the most part Trump doesn’t have the socialist dog whistle to blow. He and Russia were so looking forward to it

I’m sure his critics will come around in a few days ‘Biden needs to do something’. I think he does a lot the good news is he just makes it look so easy to the layman they think he ain’t doing jack shit.

Re: The 2020 Presidential campaign.
I wouldn't get too wrapped up in polls - that's exactly what the mainstream media and Russia wants you to do. They want Americans to become relaxed and complacent.
Wait until mid-October, look at trends. Look at the older demographic that votes, suburban white women in suburban Cincinnati, Cleveland, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Detroit, Milwaukee, Phoenix and parts of Florida.
and then still don't believe/trust them.

Freed by Court Ruling, Republicans Step Up Effort to Patrol Voting
WASHINGTON — Six months before a presidential election in which turnout could matter more than persuasion, the Republican Party, the Trump campaign and conservative activists are mounting an aggressive national effort to shape who gets to vote in November — and whose ballots are counted.
Its premise is that a Republican victory in November is imperiled by widespread voter fraud, a baseless charge embraced by President Trump, but repeatedly debunked by research. Democrats and voting rights advocates say the driving factor is politics, not fraud — especially since Mr. Trump’s narrow win in 2016 underscored the potentially crucial value of depressing turnout by Democrats, particularly minorities.

they're not going to let Americans vote. And, the ones that they do allow to vote, they'll delegitimize the process and the results.
they have Russia, the mainstream media, the DOJ and the SCOTUS.. they're not going to allow Americans to vote.

There's going to be next level cheating and voter suppression no question about it. Also, even if Biden is declared the winner in November you can count on a whole bunch of shit from then until January. It's going to be a rough 8 months buckle up.

I still think there is a good chance the racist, bigoted christian sexual predator goes on to be with his heavenly father before election day. It's obese, greasy.. filthy. Disgusting. He lives on fast food, is a drug addict. Clearly has various other diseases.
so, yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if his heavenly father called him home to be with the other christians within the next 6-8 months.

Saw earlier that we make up 4.3 % of the worlds population.. and 29% of those who have tested positive for the virus.
And what's funny, is that we aren't even testing people. I'd say if America wasn't a shithole country and we had basic medical services, we'd be closer to 35% of the total.
