The beautiful thing is it only lasts a second or two, like Chinese hot mustard. And, it doesn't make you regret what you ate while sitting on the can the next day.Dendrobates wrote:Motown Spartan wrote:Had sushi for lunch. I could feel the wasabi in the top of my brain.
I kinda enjoy that.

I can tell you where I was when I first met that foul condiment. Van Andel arena at a wine tasting. Second floor. Shrimp appetizer I honestly didn’t know. I thought the piece of skin that separates the nostrils was melting.

Wasabi and wine doesn't strike as a good combo. You should try wasabi again, sans wine.DWags wrote:The Pantry wrote:

Wasabi is awesome. But if you miscalculate the Wasabi to sushi ratio, you will get a wake up call. But it disappears quickly like pantry said

The hot of wasabi is definitely different. It's not capsaicin that makes it hot but rather allyl isothiocyanate. It puts your receptors into overdrive immediately but then is gone in just a few seconds. It's the same ingredient in horse radish.

This is the difference between Motown's education and mine. He says the above, I say it felt like the skin separating my nostrils was melting. LOL

I also love raw oysters.
And that perfect mix of cocktail sauce and horseradish on the oysters is an orgasm in my mouth.

My goddamn white pussy...
Is diabetic. We figured it would happen. But fuck man. He's 12 years old and needs to last several more years. My girls love him, and he loves taking their abuse. It's really a great sight to see this cat love the yanking, pulling, climbing, etc by an almost 1 year old and 4 year old. He just wants their love.
So far it looks like $225/month for insulin
$120/month for prescription food
Not including needles. I bought them. I just didn't pay attention to how many I have so far.
But I love that fucking cat (avatar pic).

Haven't faced that one. Holy hell. I don't want to sound bad, but I somewhat think animals, as much as we care about them, shouldn't be that much of a drain. I would ponder letting the kit live it's natural life, and do what you can without that kind of investment.
Honestly, I have cared for several dozen cats in the past 25 years, and never seen a diagnosis remotely similar. But, I will add, that this mortality has been a plus for the kids over the years, and we always pay proper respect to our furry companions. I think there are grounding lessons there.

Yeah, we have one that a vet once said he probably has kidney issues... we decided to never take him back to the vet.
We are a couple years down the road from that so not sure what the vet saw & the kids will be devastated if he goes earlier than he should... but it is what it is I guess.

This cat (casper) is such a big part of our/kids life. I need to give him a good chance at a few more years (he's 12). He's definitely a special kind of cat.
I figured he was diabetic. His eating and drinking behaviors changed. His glucose numbers proved it and are sky high. Thankfully his kidneys are functioning well. Which I was also worried about.
I gave him his first insulin shot today. Here goes another new normal.

Why do people say that I’m special? I don’t even believe it. But multiple people my entire life tell me I’m special.
I aint no special snowflake. But other people say I am.

You're going to have to give ingredients. At first blush I was repulsed by this. But now I'm thinking is this a good hangover breakfast?

I am building a shed this weekend. If I’m honest it will take me longer than a weekend to finish it. I’ll be lucky to have it done before the first snow.
