Sadly just another routine day of violent crime due to a huge fetish for guns in this country.

Of course the number one victims of this are middle aged white men. (Suicides)

It took me two weeks to find the car I wanted.

From the photos of this incident it appears that many of the victims are asian. Another odd thing about the injuries reported and posted: seems to be injuries to the lower extremities. Compounded by the reports of the attacker using smoke bombs-
My guess is that there might not have been a gun used and the injuries were caused by the smoke devices detonating causing lower extremity injuries.
The suspect was described wearing an MTA vest and gas mask.
Its easy to blame weapons used but the reason is why people carry out acts of violence against innocent people.

Looking at the photos of the injured some of them do not look like gunshot wounds. The photos shown are more indicative of blast injuries.

But with that being said, what matters more? They type of weapons used in the crime? Or preventing criminal action?

I could easily be wrong. Usually the initial reports are not completely accurate.

The FDNY said 10 people were shot (as of a couple of hours ago). It isn't like it is random people claiming this.

I’m old enough to remember when an event like this would so shock us it would be on a news cycle for a week. Now, a slap to the face lasts longer on the news.

FWIW, the term "casualties" typically refers to killed or wounded. In a military context (which this isn't), it also includes missing and captured (I think Ukraine has been releasing number of Russian casualties which is why it they claim 20,000 Russian "losses"). So there were quite a few casualties.

I think I can be marked down as a person who doesn’t hate firearms. But I also think you can very easily mark me down as a guy who hates the fact that the people most attracted to them and the people who defend the ability to pick them up with ease, and the people who scream “second amendment rights!” while we’re trying to figure out a way to wrap our arms around this, are some of the biggest pussies I know and I’m assuming have the smallest penises. I’m also guessing these same people if they ever had to get into a fire fight, or grab a gun in their house to defend themselves would not only shit their pants but most likely shoot themselves in the foot or a family member.

I grew up in northern Michigan, where, if November 15 fell on a Friday we just didn’t have school. Most of my friends have closets full of guns. They’re also pretty bad ass people who I wouldn’t want to fuck with in a fight. They use firearms as tools, not as penis enhancements.  What gets me, is most of them think the second amendment nuts  are fucking crazy snowflakes also.

So yeah, mark me down as not hating firearms, but hating the assholes who love them.
