Tesla has fit & finish issues & reliability issues, which in not much of a surprise for any engineer who has worked in the automotive industry. Sexy bells and whistles are fun, but it is a real grind to maintain the more noticed by the typical buyer features.

The only non-union plant that VW has is the one in the US. VW wanted it unionized.

I think most non-union plants are in red states. Good on her for supporting those economies (if she did buy one made in the US).

The ONLY non-Unionized Plant VW has, not by their choice, is in Tennessee. An electric VW probably was made in Germany or China.

She’s leading the charge…my prius is still going strong (amazing car) but when the time comes my gut is telling me to go with A Ford. I always do my research and I’m sure by the time my Prius reaches the end of its life there’s going to be some incredible options. Becoming rich is mostly about being in the right place at the right time - luck in other words.

No surprise if a rich person tries to replicate their success, they are unable to do so. Musk has enough money that he can just keep pouring it down into the sinkhole of twitter until it creates something, which any fool with money can do, but he is as dumb as rocks.

It’s also about having an undiagnosed mental condition. Something akin to hoarding.

Last week there was a thread asking about what you would do if you were obscenely wealthy. No one said “reinvest that money in xyz business to become even more obscenely wealthy”. That’s because none of us have that mental health condition that a 100+ billionaire has. There comes a point, when you have more money than God, where it’s okay to just step away from it all and go enjoy living on whichever of your private islands you want to be on today. It is impossible for you to ever run out of money, no matter what you do, so there is no more point in trying to acquire more.

These guys don’t ever do that though, because the need for more more more money is ever present because again, they are mentally unwell people and the need to hoard more and more money is never sated for them.

There have been some fascinating studies on money and expectations over the years. A majority of the population has an expectation of what their life should be and work to obtain the money to reach their life objective. In relationship to tax rates this is why increasing tax rates will cause people to find ways to increase their income to maintain the life expectations they have.

You are describing one set of wealthy. Musk appears to become bored. Twitter is his latest toy to keep him occupied.

Of course it is. Twitter isn’t a money making venture for him. I’m not talking about that. I’m talking about the reasons why he had the insane amount of money that he had in the first place, which there is never really any reason for anyone to have.
