Elon claims that he wants Twitter to be a public square where all people are free to discuss ideas and thoughts. But now you have to pay him $8 a month for the privilege to show up on the feed of others (meaning the only way to be heard). In my opinion the blue check is only secondary benefit. Once again only "rich" people are allowed to have opinions that are worth being heard.

How long before he finds a CEO for this company and then blames the CEO when things go to hell?

This is not Elon breaking Twitter, but SpaceX. Apparently the engineers knew the launchpad was inadequate. Some of the concrete that exploded when the rockets fired ended up breaking some of the nozzles which lead to certain engines to stop firing rendering some of the data returned less meaningful. Furthermore a dust cloud was kicked up and traversed to a town a few miles away. Engineers have been trying for several years to get a liquid cooling plate installed to prevent such damage. A day after the launch and seeing the predicable damage, Elon agreed. Keep in mind he called this launch for April 2020. Engineers were grateful for COVID because they had cover for delayed timeline and more design and testing.

In typical Elon fashion:
- breaking stuff is "cool" even if it causes millions in damages
- "Let's not listen to the experts, I'm the expert."
- and it had to go up last week because"4/20 -- hehehe". The first attempt was even expected to be scrubbed.

This guy is a dumb potsmoking teenager with billions of dollars. (not all people who smoke pot are dumb)

I have been accused of acting like "the smartest person in the room" on message boards from time to time, however, as an engineer that is a really dumb way to act ITRW regarding technical issues.

I never saw the need for a Twitter account and the only times I have gone to a Twitter page is when one of my fellow Swill chuckleheads posts a link.

I can see the business model working when it wasn’t owned by someone who overpaid. Musk bought at a premium price and doesn’t want to use it as a loss leader.

In a decade I can see Musk’s most valuable asset being royalties from his electric vehicle recharging stations as it’s being adopted as the standard.

What was the point of rebranding to X if the domain is still twitter? Why even call them tweets anymore, might as well call them exes.

I looked at my profile yesterday out of curiosity and discovered I haven't posted anything since 7/8/23. I don't think ever went more than 2-3 days between posts before now.

I have always enjoyed Twitter. A good way to involve yourself with various "celebrities". Some of them are quite gracious and will respond back to you on occasion.

The key is to properly curate your account so that the trolls and bots don't turn up on your feed. Don't know how getting rid of the "block" would affect this. I generally use the "see less of this" box and things and posters I'm not interested in go away.

Musk is a quirky guy for sure. Many people doubt his business sense but the things he involves himself with generally work out. Like many thinks, time will tell about Twitter, oops, X.
