Looks Like Tesla is Fed up with Elon's Antics
https://apnews.com/article/elon-musk-tesla-compensation-pay-shareholders-e75687178d1175fba36ca55bd9c4c805
DOVER, Del. (AP) — Elon Musk is not entitled to a landmark compensation package awarded by Tesla’s board of directors that is potentially worth more than $55 billion, a Delaware judge ruled Tuesday.
The ruling by Chancellor Kathaleen St. Jude McCormick comes more than five years after a shareholder lawsuit targeted Tesla CEO Musk and directors of the company. They were accused of breaching their duties to the maker of electric vehicles and solar panels, resulting in a waste of corporate assets and unjust enrichment for Musk.
The shareholder’s lawyers argued that the compensation package should be voided because it was dictated by Musk and was the product of sham negotiations with directors who were not independent of him. They also said it was approved by shareholders who were given misleading and incomplete disclosures in a proxy statement.
Re: Elon Musk and Twitter
Tesla was valued at about $50 billion at the time of the compensation package and that value increased by 20x after and so I would argue that the shareholders of Tesla were amply rewarded by keeping Musk onboard.
Don't worry about Elon though. Tesla will now have to renegotiate his compensation package and as the market has indicated that it sees value in Musk as CEO of Tesla his new pay might surprise (and enrage) you.

I am enraged by first the idea that a corporation only has an obligation to its stockholders, and that any man's labor is worth more than any other man's labor. Both are morally bankrupt values.

1. Nobody thinks that a corporation has obligations only to its stockholders.
2. So you think Tom Izzo should be paid the same as Dusty May?
Someone who has never read what right wing economists such as Miltion Freidman(sp) say about who corporations are responsible to satisfy.
The belief that one man is worth more than any other man is insane, yet here we are.

So Tom Izzo should be paid the same as the guy who mows his lawn??
Tom's labor is worth the same amount. Capitalism is a nihilistic system.

Anyone else on this board agree that Tom Izzo should be pain the same amount as the guy who cuts his lawn? Anyone??

At the current time Musk is the only American capable of sending people into orbit and he has done so with 100% reliability.

Anyone on the board believe that Tom Izzo has done more to change life on earth than Jesus Christ, who wasn't paid at all?

I think NASA counts, and what the real value to putting people in space is can be debated.

He is trying to grift $56 Billion, with a B, out of the Tesla BoD right now WOTS is that he might not get it and thus will walk away. Since his poor choices plus increased competition in China suggests Tesla is loosing its luster if he leaves any Tesla downturn will be blamed on his leaving.

Re: Elon Musk and Twitter
Tesla's market cap today is $577 Billion, so no, not a 20 times bump.
Also their P/E is 47, pretty high for a company in a traditional business of building cars, one in which, BTW, they are not a market leader.

A CEO bumps his companies value from 50 billion to 557 billion. If I were a shareholder I would be pretty happy with that.
But true to form, leftists outrage at the success of others.

If I were buying stock the market cap of the company is way down the list of metrics I would care about.
EPS would be much higher on my list, and judging by that Tesla has had its run and is no longer a good play.
https://companiesmarketcap.com/tesla/eps/
As I noted, as a mature company in a mature market with substandard product and more capable competition coming on line the P/E is too high and this is not when I would be paying 10% of the market cap to retain the wrong CEO.
IMO Musk is trying to cash out before the hammer falls on Tesla, as that is his MO
Re: Elon Musk and Twitter
Looks like the Tesla shareholders will be overwhelmingly passing the proposed pay package for Musk. The main goal is to increase Musk's control over the company as his stake will increase from 13% to 25%.
The market responded positively to this news with Tesla shares increasing in price.
In contrast, Swill leftists will be enraged over this.

Me too.
I have always wondered why "buying local" applies to kale and beer but not cars. I have always owned cars that are made by our local car companies. Most liberals, while spouting support for unions, can't seem to bring themselves to actually buy a union made car. From the looks of things Subaru is the current official car of the left.

Well other than the question about if Bob is a liberal and if Suberu is union made or not there is the question of what constitutes "most". If Bob is the sum of most liberals it's a very small number of people.
