Biden is right about tariffs on EVs

President Obama was correct on encouraging domestic EV production thru tax breaks and rebates more than a decade ago too but that was government interference in the free market and the Detroit 3 never look past the next quarter.

So China watched early US stalling and like solar said thank you very much.

Anser me this. If EV's are so god damned bad why is Elon Musk moving his EV businesses to oil happy Texas and the GOP is accepting his dirty EV money?

1) Musk is moving out of California because of regulations and restrictions. Texas is a much friendlier business environment for what he's trying to do.

2) No one is saying EVs are "so goddamned bad." They're great - for some people. The only concern I express is these government mandates about selling EVs and restricting/ending ICE vehicles. Because for those of us for whom EVs don't work - we're gonna be in a bind in 5-10 years if these mandates aren't rolled back.

It will be so difficult for you to have a vehicle which costs less, is more reliable, has more range and more towing power, with recharging at fast chargers all over the place that takes 5 minutes.

Saw a lady with long hair riding what appeared to be an e-bike the other day.

I estimated her going around 18 mph and she wasn't even peddling.

2 years ago there were hardly any EVs and few had over 200 miles of range. Now those at 200 miles of range are at the bottom of the ranges. And prices were north of 60k, now GM & Ford have SUVs in the middle 30k price range

Public charging stations are being added in the thousands...

Still ongoing TM, cheaper versions of EVs and thousands of public chargers coming on line every month. This is a wave of lower costs over ICEs, even as the oil markets are declining.

EVs have the advantage of fewer materials thus lower costs so the ICE fans are fighting a battle against lower costs.  The Chinese have shown what the costs will be if the capital is paid for by the government, and ICEs are not competing with 10k to 20k prices
