Ryan Day was extra fired up in the post-game interview. Apparently, Lou Holthz said something that pissed off Day.

Send like half the plays of games I watch the announcer is telling you who the player played for last year.

Only thing that makes sense to me is if they got the two pt conversation and cut it to six then they could tie it up with two subsequent FGs. Kick the PAT and it’s still a 7-pt. deficit. With 8:23 left, it isn’t unrealistic to think they could get the ball back two more times, thus, two more possible FG attempts.
That’s it. That’s all I’ve got. Not that it mattered in the end.

Holy shit, the ending of the Canes game.

Miami, up by 3, at GT's 30 yard line. 3rd and 10. 33 seconds left at the snap. Instead of taking a knee or running around in their own backfield to kill some seconds, they run it up the middle. Fumble. GT recovers.

Then GT goes 75 yards in 26 seconds to win it.

One of the worst coaching decisions ever. And GT had no time outs. The game was OVER. Kneel down. OVER. WTF.

And how do you let a guy get behind you on the last pass? Geez.

Then GT does the worst thing you can do on the kickoff by kicking it out of bounds and giving Miami the ball at the 40.

GT lost to Bowling Green last week. General college football thread 2023 - Page 4 502811600

The funniest part is Stanford is bad. Like really, really bad. Their only win until last night was against Hawaii. They lost to freaking Sacramento St.

You'd think any self respecting Spartan would be able to see right through the bullshit with it being jammed down our throats for decades and decades not only in both sports but also wider world view of our beloved university, but alas... we have fricking Steve.

I think we’d have to pay a premium for either. No idea the level of commitment Ishbia has to do that. We could probably get the Wash State coach (for example) without even asking Ishbia.

Anybody who's worth a shit will be getting a significant raise at MSU. Either because they're moving up from a "lesser" program, or because they're moving laterally from a "peer/greater" program, or because they're an assistant somewhere.

If the new coach isn't getting a significant raise, then Haller failed and we're fucked.

We were "set" with a returning Thorne at the time.

Penix was talented but injury prone at IU. Nix had average results at Auburn. Would either of them have flourished in MSU's offense?

Great question. It would have been interesting to find out.

After going 11-2 his first season starting, with some pretty good stats, there weren't too many people clamoring to replace him. Hindsight is 20/20 of course.

Don’t know for certain but a weak IU O-line is probably why Penix was hurt more often. It’s unlikely he would’ve found anything attractive to offer him in the “grass is greener on the other side” category. Our line has been more often bad than good for years now.
