Reading reviews & such about Dune Part 2 and the upcoming plan for Dune Part 3 (Dune Messiah). Director and reviewers saying that DM is the ending to Paul's story, though anyone who has read the books knows that Paul is a major character in " Children of Dune", the third book of the series, too.

Re: Random Ramblings
Some are the bubble gum variety, which are fine. They have value. Some are the young adult ones. Which, again, are fine. We've all been there.
Then there are long songs for adults. People who have seen some things, experienced some things. And figure "what the fuck.. we have some baggage, some scars.. let's play a hand and see how it turns out".
Yeah, the road is dark
And it's a thin, thin line
But I want you to know, I'll walk it for you anytime
Maybe your other boyfriends
Couldn't pass the test
Well, if you're rough and ready for love
Honey, I'm tougher than the rest
Well, it ain't no secret
I've been around a time or two
Well, I don't know, baby
Maybe you've been around too
Well, there's another dance
All you gotta do is say yes
And if you're rough and ready for love
Honey, I'm tougher than the rest
If you're rough enough for love
Baby, I'm tougher than the rest

I don’t know how. Lady has a pretty good video. My daughter said she can hear it in royal oak. It’s 20 minutes and it’s still exploding. WTF?
You could even hear it from my house, and I'm 25 minutes north. It sounded like thunder.

Every year people get fired at our national meeting. It doesn't matter where. Plus, there are several thousand people. There's always idiots.
And my company can always find a reason to fire someone if they want.

It was kind of disappointing in that aspect. It was pretty tame.
BUT... I did not stay out late. I assumed it would be crazy all day long. It looked like things were starting to get interesting around 630 pm. By that time, I'd been up so long, and I had already walked around for hours. I was tired. It's also a lot quieter and mild on this side of the strip (at fountainbleau). I imagine it did get crazy eventually.
I went to bed early, and I actually slept too. It was a good day for me.

Truly weird how many chain pizza places are HQ'd in Michigan. Jetts (original spelling) has done it very well over 40 years.DWags wrote:The Pantry wrote:Company held another town hall meeting late morning...its version of a state of the union address. The old one finally crapped out. Still works and was able to backup, but the LAN went south...no internet to attempt restoring/updating the driver. Could fart around trying to update the driver on the side. Not worth the trouble considering the LAN itself might be fried...been slow for weeks.
Even having a replacement readily available is sort of a PITA. Will likely take a week to find all the settings I want to change.

Re: Random Ramblings
Couldn't get to my email. 2-factor authentication doesn't work when both accounts are through the same provider and you can't access passwords on the LAN-dead old laptop. Spent over 2 hours on the phone to get that straightened out, along with complications due to the email app on my phone...a standard app that comes with all Samsungs. It got ugly. Had to take pics of my drivers license and a selfie (really ugly).
Re-assessed...will likely take two weeks to find all the stuff I need to change to get back to pre-crash operations. Old LT had W10. New has W11. Microsoft is always fucking with stuff they don't need to. Now takes an extra click to delete or rename a file. Idiots.

I’d venture to guess that there’s a threshold moment during said blowjob that would determine the outcome of the drug test.

IT upgraded my work laptop to 11 Pro late last week. Same issues as the Home version but frustratingly worse the way it interacts with Office. For example...Outlook is a pain with extra steps required to do what you could do easily with W10. Had to search for where the bcc option was. Can someone please tell me where the option is to save multiple attachments to the same folder without downloading each file individually? It's like the people writing the software have no idea how it gets used in the workplace. The goal IMO should be primarily to save time. W10 introduced extra button clicks and W11 has expanded on that.
Rant over! There is one truly useful feature I've found with W11. You can paste a pic into an Excel cell as a thumbnail and easily expand it to full size, and then put it back to thumbnail.

Wouldn't the Outlook issues be Outlook issues, not Win 11 issues? That doesn't seem like the kind of thing that would be exclusive to Win 11.The Pantry wrote:Further follow up. Watched computer advances since the ole days at the MSU CPS building when input was by keypunch card. Very impressive at the time. All the computer hardware/software power in that place is dwarfed now by any smartphone.
Introduction of W8 pissed many off. MS eventually back-tracked after user revolt.
Know the coders are tasked with making the software "better". Some new features are actually useful. But, MS throws in some features that are seemingly change for the sake of change. Some frustrating, making users hunt around for what they were use to...things that previously worked fine.

Kind of like the software I use at work. It's like they intentionally try to bury the most useful parts of it when they update it.
