I'm not as sold on it being a good fit. Dana isn't exactly known to use or throw to TEs at Houston or WVU. But yeah, seems like some he wasn't a going to be in the plans next year.

Oregon St used the TE quite a bit in pass game the last several years. A few guys have cycled through their program that have put up decent numbers. All the same mold. I suspect they want a more traditional big inline TE that can also be used on play action. But blocking is first priority.

I liked watching Carr. He was unique and interesting player to watch get downfield and on the run. But seemed to have a very specific skillset.

Maybe the best thing for him is to learn to block. Maybe it’s good to increase that skill for the next level. He’s got enough film of him catching and running.


Either way good luck to him. That catch against IU was epic.

Think being HC of a PowerFive school is a tougher job than an NFL HC in 2024.

Start at school A, transition into a new environment with new people and expectations, learn playbook, etc.

Transfer to school B, transition into new environment with new people and expectations, learn playbook, and now compete with experienced players already in the system, etc.

Transfer to school C and do it all over again...

Chances of success probably greatly diminish with the third school. Unless the differences are so great and it's personal, this is some bad advising and decision-making. Not to mention the NCAA loves to cling to the student-athlete stuff and this doesn't square. This is pretty disruptive and probably puts kids behind in terms of graduation.

It's not some, "Oh we have such high academic standards" thing, but I think had more to do with credits that MSU accepts as a transfer (and that could drop his GPA below allowable standards).
