I love Deadwood. Top five show of all time for me. I think Al Swearengen might be the best villain in TV history. Just when you start thinking he's the worst guy in camp, a worse guy comes along. And when you think that guy is the worst, a worse guy comes along. And you end up relating to Swearengen because he has reasons for the evil he does. The wickedly nasty language, the gruesome violence, the filthy whores, what's not to love?

I had the chance to go to Deadwood a few years ago when I was in South Dakota, which was pretty cool.

We drove through Deadwood after spending the day hiking Spearfish. Seemed pretty cool, but didn’t stop as we were pooped and wanted to keep driving.

Supacell was pretty good. On Netflix, pretty quick watch, only 6 episodes.

The 8-episode miniseries Presumed Innocent is okay, but not as good as the original movie with Harrison Ford.
Apple+ TV, starring Jake Gyllenhall.

I saw last night that the new Beverly Hills Cop movie is out on Netflix. I started to watch it on my phone, then I stopped. That's one that I'll watch on a projection screen with proper audio to recapture the original experience, hopefully at some point this weekend.

The opening chase in the original was pretty darn fun, especially with the Pointer Sisters singing in the background.

I really liked the new Beverly Hills Cop. Critics generally approve, but many are throwing around the phrase "fan service" because the movie brought back so many past characters. I'm getting a bit tired of that phrase being used to denigrate movies, novels and TV shows. When a work of fiction revisits characters, that's part of the story. If you created characters people care about, you do a disservice by ignoring those characters when you advance the story.

Got hooked on British / Irish deceptive series watching Acorn and BritBox that I subscribed to thru Amazon. Good TV and not as formulaic.

I'm watching season 7 again. I love Debra Morgan with all my heart, but Hannah McKay is hot. I like the dark bra, sheer white top look. After seeing that again, I've decided to start wearing black underpants and see-through trousers.

Anyone else watching House of Dragons? I get the reservations after GoT shit themselves, but I like it. Just finished S2 E5 and it was so fucking good. I know it is a good episode when twife has to watch from the other room and then goes immediately to bet to watch cat videos.

The dragons are fun.
I thought the original built up the characters more though. (Maybe because they had the books to back it up?)

Watched the first season of Sugar starring Colin Farrell. It’s an 8-episode old-style noir detective drama. Really liked it.
Just watched the first episode of Bad Monkey with Vince Vaughn and it’s another I enjoyed. The series is based on the book by Carl Hiassen.

I looked up Sugar. It looks real good but it says it’s on something called Apple+. Is that a computer channel?

The Fall Guy wasn’t too bad. I mean, it’s exactly what I figured it was going to be before hitting Play. Lots of action and crashes and explosions. It’s got enough of a storyline that it kept my attention. I never saw the tv series.

Ted Lasso appears headed for a fourth season, minus the titular character. Three principal characters have been signed and now the studio is approaching other familiar names/faces.

I would stop watching if the titular character was gone. Like if they added to the Indecent Behavior movie franchise without Dr. Rebecca Mathis, played by Shannon Tweed.

"From" (prime/mgm+?) Makers of Lost... trapped people, weird shit, pretty good so far. 2 seasons.
Evil (2 seasons on netflix, 4 total) season 1 was slow, but 2 picked up. It's currently "done" but there is an online push to get netflix to pick it up. I enjoy it.
