Honestly bro if that’s true then don’t take those strolls through twitter comments. Put it all down for awhile, it’s not worth it. Keep in mind that there isn’t shit you can do in the end so you shouldn’t let it drag you down.DWags wrote:Heat Miser wrote:

I feel guilty because I don’t think my physical life will change. There is a strong case to be made that my psychological life will be damaged. I have felt depressed for a week. And I feel even more guilty I say that. Compared to some in and out of our country I need to just STFU about my state of being.

Muslims don’t see a difference between Trump or Harris. All the last year did was prove there really isn’t. And save me the “it’ll get worse” BS. It’s already bad and throwing an extra grain of salt on the wound don’t mean shit to them. You think local Muslims fear a Trump presidency? Pffft. They and their families have seen real suffering. Real pain. Real atrocities. Trump as president ain’t shit to them. They’ve seen and probably lived worse. You know who it does hurt? You and me. Us suburban keyboard warriors. Those of us who offer “thoughts and prayers” basically. Muslims must laugh at our faux outrage over Palestine while we sit on the couch eating popcorn with a crown and coke, soaking on the book table, watching Big noon Saturday kick off. They’re probably thinking “oh you poor bleeding heart pussies supposedly worried about you own daughters right to healthcare decisions over her body, lol. “Fuck off. Our sons, daughters, wives and husbands are being exterminated and all you offer is some fake “Rafa is the red line” from a guy who can’t change his own underwear”. Time to teach YOU a lesson.
Are we talking about the actual people in the Middle East or the Muslims in America that voted for the Green Party? Because please keep them separated. Since sports metaphors are used, not voting for Harris to me is like a football coach turning down a ten yard penalty with one second left and having his kicker kick a 67 yard field goal instead of a 57 yard field go. Both almost impossible, but take the penalty. And yes both most likely fail.
Who, exactly, is getting punished by the vote for the Green Party? Middle to upper middle class democrats? I’m trying to figure out how that will happen, but I’m not sure I can come up with anything. Except psychology I agree with that. This country is going to be very dark the next 4 years. Hopefully there is some kind of coalition formed to fight these fuckers. Take a trip down Twitter and open up any thread regarding the Middle East. See these knuckle draggers celebrating what they see coming.
Funny, but our only hope now is that Trump can somehow negotiate a stop to this. Fuck.

The Democratic party is getting punished. Everybody else is collateral damage.
The Muslim American community understands that their only leverage is their vote. If they had simply given in, nothing would have changed and their leverage would be gone for nothing. The Democrats very stupidly ignored or looked down on the uncommitted movement (yourself VERY MUCH included), but when the Democrats tried to call their bluff, they found out it wasn't a bluff. Better learn something from that (and not just "woke = bad"). Maybe not being owned by AIPAC and operated like Bibi's ventriloquist dummy would be a start. If not, kiss the Muslim American vote good bye forever.
Leverage.

DWags, the difference is people who support cancer victims and survivors are positive. They support you. The only thing I see out of this Palestine situation is hate. Blame Harris. Blame Democrats. How about blaming the SHITHEADS that attacked innocent people on October 7? What was the endgame? Did they actually think they would win? JFC.DWags wrote:PennSpartan wrote:

AKA the Anikan Skywalker school of thought:
Anakin began to suffer from nightmares and visions that his mother was in pain, dying; despite Obi-Wan’s orders to stay on Naboo with Padmé, he left for Tatooine to rescue Shmi, Padmé in tow. Upon arrival, he found that Shmi had been kidnapped by Sand People. Anakin eventually located their camp and found his mother, where she died in his arms; enraged, the Jedi unleashed an inner fury never before seen, and slaughtered every Tusken he found.
And BTW...how do you equate people advocating against genocide to hate?

Apparently Hamas doesn’t give a shit about the people they live with. Imagine that. Throw them out. It’s kind of like how Democrats allow Republicans to exist here. Maybe do something about it. Instead of voting for the Green Party.Heat Miser wrote:PennSpartan wrote:

Just think of Palestinians as cancer patients with a doctor who has the cure in his hands but refuses to let you have it.
At least your wife didn’t have someone sponsoring the cancer.

We're older, white, male, and relatively well off. We'll get thru this far easier than a lot of people, here & abroad. You don't need to feel guilty about that, but I'm very confident you at least have empathy for those less fortunate. And as an older, white, relatively well off male, your voice carries outsized weight in the world. Use it.
You can say this but trump policies make the world and the United States much much worse. That is surely going to impact us established white males. I don't want to be prince of a mound of trash. Its still a mound of trash even if I'm top. The kings will be the mega corps doing whatever they please. I don't think people realize who the true kings of this country are going to be and that they aren't out for they/them, or you and I. With this Scotus, we needed a unified left wing government because they basically made it clear they will roll back anything that gives power to any other branch (except their own of course) thereby requiring actual laws to be passed. Any passed laws will either need to be completely bipartt (and therefore right wing by default due to how extreme those people are) or we would need a unified left wing house, senate and executive to check off any actual left wing agenda items. The result is more corporate freedom, more wealth inequality, more debt, more religion run amok. Basically the opposite of what this nation actually needed. We are no longer a nation of the people, we are a capitalist hellscape.

If people could ask cancer to stop it, then cancer refused, I’m sure people would more angrily ask cancer to stop it. Alas, they cannot, as that makes no sense at all. Further, if they had two choices for President, both of whom supported cancer, I could understand how someone could be disillusioned and vote for a third choice instead of the cancer supporting politicians

Honestly, if their was no war in Israel I still doubt it pushes Harris over the top with the normal amount of Muslims that vote Dem in an uncontroversial year. However them plus another disgruntled group or two maybe gets it done. Its a chunk for sure.

US says Israel hasn't breached its law against blocking aid in Gaza
Hmm, I wonder why Muslim and Arab Americans think it makes no difference whether they vote for Democrats or Republicans. It's almost like that whole 30 day deadline thing that deliberately extended past the election was just a cynical attempt to trick voters into thinking a change in policy might be coming in order to induce them to vote for Democrats, when in fact the plan was never to change anything at all.
Genocide and the return of Trump are Joe Biden's entire legacy. One of the worst presidents of my lifetime.

Until.the voters become smart enough to see what is happening you can't. With the new information age we are beyond what Nixon & Reagan did, as foreign leaders are chosing who they want as President and acting accordingly.

republicans/libertarians have spent a generation (probably more) demonizing education, they flood the mainstream media with lies and deceit, the mainstream media needs it for clicks and viewership, so they're complicit.. they make people think reality TV is "real", then find a failed reality TV star - a useful idiot - to take advantage of the intellectually-vacant viewers, then you get Russia involved while social media provides the gullible electorate with an echo chamber that takes advantage of their intellectual vulnerabilities which, based on other factors I've laid out, is by design.Trapper Gus wrote:sεяεηιτλ wrote:

Until.the voters become smart enough to see what is happening you can't. With the new information age we are beyond what Nixon & Reagan did, as foreign leaders are chosing who they want as President and acting accordingly.
so while it makes some of y'all sad to hear it, America is a stupid country, by design, and republicans/libertarians are reaping their rewards.
of course, this belongs in the 'low information' thread, but it's pretty obvious that we are where we are because of low information (no information) republicans/libertarians and their commitment to the mainstream media.

Reading that article I don’t know if I’m disgusted with their leaders (begging Trump to act because he signed a piece of wood in Dearborn) or if I feel like a fool, because maybe they know Trump will come to their aid and create a lasting ceasefire.
I continue to hold out hope for the people who are being slaughtered. What else can we do?

Time will tell.
To me it was foolish of them support Trump, who is even more pro-Israel than Biden.
I suppose these killing may stop once Israel has annexed Palistine from the river to the sea.

Dems are in a pickle here. You want a ceasefire, but it gives Trump a victory if he gets it done.Trapper Gus wrote:DWags wrote:Reading that article I don’t know if I’m disgusted with their leaders (begging Trump to act because he signed a piece of wood in Dearborn) or if I feel like a fool, because maybe they know Trump will come to their aid and create a lasting ceasefire.

Personally I have become skeptical of what the United States's goals are in this conflict. To say the Democratic Party as a whole wants a cease fire is speculative.
