The AP article is about the nuts and bolts of bringing the project 2025 people into the White House before January 2025, so they have access to the door keys, existing structures within the executive branch and their required security clearances to be able to read the memos telling people what to do.
That is all controlled by a law Congress passed back after the 2000 election which was updated in 2022.
Without an execution of the transition process the Trump staff will spend a couple of months blind, deaf & dumb as far as the rest of the civil service in the executive branch is concerned.

Once again Donnie the Felon is going to benefit from a good economy, eff it up, and in four years leave it the Dems to try and fix it and get all the blame.

Maybe the evil plan is to create a recession which will drive prices down.

Interesting, because judging by her boss, I would have guessed she was more likely to be Jimmy The Greek's daughter.
Between that and Phyllis George's daughter being an anchor on CNN, it's quite the NFL Today connection in politics now. What are Brent Musberger's and Irv Cross's kids up to? Need to get them involved somewhere.

Gas has been dropping for a while due to demand for oil dropping in China (due to part to China shifting is vehicle fleets to electric (for cars) and natural gas for trucks). OPEC Plus decided to continue at their lower output to try to push prices up and it did cause a bump in oil prices on Friday, but they are spitting into the wind.

And again, why did we let this issue become an anchor on our necks.
I’m as liberal as they come. I’m very uneasy about both surgeries and sports. And it involves what, 1% of our populace yet was an issue with over 65% of voters.

I don’t think we can prevent that because there will always be a Democrat somewhere who takes a position that Republicans can inflate and attach to the entire party.
Democrats need to do the same. Republicans blocked a contraception bill and we barely heard anything about it. Why weren’t there commercials about the Republican War on Sex? Not just gay sex like in the past, but all sex. Those young meathead males might think twice about voting Republican if Democrats were to hang a “War on Sex” tag on Republicans.

a) abortion rights used to be the anchor of division but....
b) because it is so divisive, nobody cares if it is .01% or 1% it is an issue to stand behind
nobody campaigns on things like the national debt, balancing the budget, adjusting Social Security, health care, Immigration (not by Presidential decree, but by Congress), Education, the Environment .... I could go on and on
but nope we focus on a border wall, sex change, womens reproductive rights, and name calling aka facist/nazi vs marxist/communist. Our system as designed is awesome; our system in it's current structure sucks. And political campaigns are little more that both candidates saying "You Suck" to the other side.

2. The Kentucky governor is a Democrat. Whoa. Surely that won't last.
3. Said governor vetoes cruel anti trans bill. Political suicide you'd think.
4. Kentucky governor gets reelected.

That will be an interesting case next year. Rape will be legal but your daughter will be your property - so if he doesn’t ask your permission, you’ll probably be permitted to give the meathead ten lashes.

Yeah, the conspiracy theories are nuts to you and me, but they don’t seem to hurt the Republicans. Trump said Haitians are eating people’s dogs and cats in the biggest TV event of the campaign season, and that line was played over and over.
Apparently pointing out the other side’s crazy claims isn’t what moves the needle. It looks like politicians can just keep saying crazy shit until something sticks without being penalized for the crazy shit that doesn’t stick. So if we start making crazy claims about Republicans maybe we will find a few that stick.

Kamala used 3 or 4 different strategies in 100’days. If she’d have had 2 years, she could have refined the campaign to a coherent, effective message. But 100 days was not enough time. Thanks Pudding Brains!

The Democrats did want him. And then they wanted Kamala. The Democrats even voted for Kamala. What the Democrats failed to do was convince non-Democrats to vote for Kamala.

He should never have been running in the first place! After 2022 he should have announced he was not seeking reelection and let the primary play out. Those who dealt with Uncle Joe on a daily basis - and I’d say Jill and Hunter at least - should have realized his brains were turning to pudding and told him to step aside.

With 2 years, I'd like to think they'd have had time to find a better candidate than Kamala, or at least have the focus group data showing how unpopular campaigning with Cheneys was.

For sure his fault. Nobody wants to run against an incumbent, so it is *ahem* incumbent upon the incumbent to recognize when they are a total loser and step aside. That did not happen on a reasonable timeline.

He was voted in and gets to keep the job until he’s removed. Trump didn’t have any problem running against him. There’s nothing in the rules, written or unwritten that forbids Biden from running for a second term. Pelosi finally had to tell him not to run. Why didn’t she or someone tell him this a year earlier? Bernie, you reading this?Cameron wrote:PennSpartan wrote:

The Republican candidate was historically terrible, no one disputes that. The Democrats have lost to said historically terrible candidate twice now, and why and how that happened is what we are discussing. I know you have nothing constructive to add, but saying nothing is always an option. You and Mr. Blue Wave would do well to figure that out.
