I have total respect for Ms. Denhollander and what she is doing, but to be fair Bob - I believe she is a licensed attorney herself (though, I do not believe she is in current practice).

yep, she's an attorney.

still not an easy thing to do. And she's, thankfully, speaking and conducting herself in a way that sets an example for other victims who would be (understandably) more reluctant. It's my hope that parents of young girls (and boys, for that matter) use her as example of what to do and how to do it.

I totally agree, as I said I have nothing but the utmost respect for her.

She owned Nassar's defense attorney in the preliminary hearing - and that is a good thing.

I think the truth has pretty much come to light already and he's destined for life behind bars. Maybe he will get shivved after being made someone's bitch. Hopefully at least.

I may have said this somewhere else in this thread..

but, living in EL, I know quite a few parents who have sent kids to his practice or were gymnasts through this particular gym. One of my friends in particular has met with him multiple times as he worked with his daughter.. we were drinking beer one afternoon and I was kinda curious about the obvious question. I never asked but at one point he volunteered "dude, I'm not sure if anything ever happened and, frankly, I don't want to know if my daughter doesn't want to talk about it. This guy is going to prison forever and if something happened and she doesn't want to come forward about it, that's okay with me".

His daughter is probably 22-23 years old now and lives out of state. He said she had met with Nassar probably 50-60 times over the years.

I kind of hope he doesn't get shivved. Or, at least not killed with it. He doesn't deserve an easy out. I'd rather have him get beaten and smacked around every day. Or maybe it's ok if he gets shivved, as long it does permanent damage to some organs that, while not killing him, will cause him quite a bit of anguish every time he pees or shits for the rest of his miserable life.
