Coronavirus?? We gone?

Any of you guys (or Dendro) wearing a mask when you go out yet?

I wasn't excited about it, but my wife pretty well insisted. So I've been to Meijer twice rockin' one. I'd say about half the people at the Lake Lansing Meijer are wearing one.

On the upside, covering my face ensures that I dont scare the kids..  so that's good.

I would if I had one, but also I don't go out. Strictly curbside pickup until this is over. Open hatch, they load, close hatch, no contact at all.

My sis has an old Singer and made masks for she and her husband (not the underwear one in the other thread). She made me one and put it in the mail from NC on Monday...still not here. Haven't got mail in a couple days.

That's how I roll. I have a bandana (green and white) that I wore for a quick trip to the store the other day. I'm fine doing it if it helps others feel comfortable that I'm not spreading something.

Seems that about 60-70% of people I see are wearing them, as of Friday. Including several people wearing them while driving in their car, which is a little weird. Also saw one lady at the store, who, in addition to wearing a surgical-type mask, was also wearing a full face shield.

Girl I dated from Manistee dad was in the coast guard. Their family was originally from Okrakoke Island. Half the phone book there was her last name. Anyway, we dated for a while through collge. cool - I remember you telling me that when we hung out at your tailgate. I lived in NC for 24 or so years and went to the coast maybe twice, so I haven't spent much time there (I don't do heat and sand, as you know ).

I know a lot of people enjoy that part of the state. I have a friend whose family have a house on Ocrakoke and they call their time being there "Ocrakoma" 'cause I think they stay on the precipice of a drunken coma the entire time they're there.

Went to visit the property once before purchasing in the late 90's.  Nearly 4 acres in a new-ish development.  The dirt roads snaking up the mountain were narrow and twisty...some hairpins you had to swing wide before starting the turn, stop, backup, then finish the turn.  Managed to break the power steering while there and had to drive back to MI without it.  Some very nice homes.  Could see Lake Lure in the distance.  

The property now is one of the last undeveloped lots.  Sad thing is it isn't worth much more than when purchased.  At least the association fee and taxes are low.

yep - lots of snaky dirt roads in those areas, a lot that aren't even marked on a map. The little town I grew up in is really nice - it's almost turned into a suburb of Asheville in terms of being a bedroom community. Lots of transplants (as my Dad used to call them) and gentrification.. great little bars, restaurants, brewpubs, etc. I miss visiting quite a bit. I suspect property value has skyrocketed there, as well.

I haven’t been out in weeks. I would have worn a mask then if I had one. I did see a recent video of making a mask out of a sock without anything else. And I don’t have elastic, rubber bands, etc. So I will give that a shot if I have to go out.

Somewhat of an update on my brother:

Last night he did not well. Long story short after ups and downs, as of 11am today he finally didn’t have a fever after 7 days straight of one. That’s about it right now.

Yes. so it’s tough getting updates since he’s in a coma. It’s just whenever the nurses get time to update. I only got the 1 update at noon today. I guess no other news is good news.
