Geographically, Where Does "Up North" Begin?

The UP is NOT up north. The UP is the UP. It’d be like saying Canada is up north. I guess it’s technically north but no one is saying I’m going up north when they’re going to Canada. It’s the same for the UP. No one says “I’m going up north” they say “I’m going to the UP”. So the extra designation is unnecessary for the UP. Up north is hereby referring to the space from the zilwaukee to the other bridge.

That you can't get a decent pasty below The Bridge defines Mackinaw City as the southern border of Up North.
